A little over 3 months ago I took the plunge and bought a house to remodel and sell. It has been something I have talked about doing for so long that I just got tired of hearing myself talk about it. I challenged myself to buy a property by the end of 2023. And I made that deadline barely. It was sad and neglected but had so much potential. It was the proverbial ugliest house on the street. It’s been a challenging experience but with the help of family, friends and some great trades we’ve created a home that I am so proud of. Have a subdivision kitchen that has seen better days? In our latest project, a kitchen remodel, we kept the footprint but removed elements that made it dark, dated and dull. The introduction of a feature wall, new lighting and beautiful new cabinets & countertops all in lighter tones with earthy accents made for stunning results!

So true! I work in both residential & commercial design and there is a huge difference in the client-designer dynamic. Residential: 1AM Friday, 10 texts & emails from client up worrying about grout color. Can you come by on Saturday to have a look. I am very concerned but not available to meet on Friday. Commercial: Friday 10 am flooring came in the wrong color. No worries we can talk about it on Monday. Have a great weekend!! Love both sides but very different challenges.
