🧡 Newport Pagnells Vintage Weekend 🧡

So much to see and do at this weekends Newport Pagnell vintage weekend. With entertainment, stalls, food and more, spread through our historic town onto the lovely bury field. 🧡New to my shelf at My Little Vintage🧡

Lots of nostalgia this month with the teddy bears picnic theme. I personally have fond memories of teddy bear picnics with nursery when I was a little girl. The excitement of leaving school clutching our bears to sit on checked blankets to eat our lunch. We were also very lucky to have a little farm within our park so we got to visit the animals too🥰

🧡The marvellous hare 🧡

One of my absolute favourites to make. This one is mounted all head and no body to help him 😂 giving taxidermy vibes with no animals being hurt here 🥰

As an animal lover I find it fascinating the idea of preserving a diseased animal through taxidermy (obviously when it’s done in an ethical and legal way and not hunted). Such a skill and art to be able to preserve and maintain the animals look for years after. One of my favourite rooms in the natural history museum in London is the mammals gallery which as lots of us know has an amazing array of taxidermy animals including some that are now sadly extinct. These items helping to educate us and the next generation.

🧡 Mad as a March Hare 🧡

Yes it’s fast approaching the season when the hare is know for its mad antics of behaving erratically, chasing each other and boxing 🥊

The weather has warmed (if only for a couple of days) and the flowers are blooming. The newts have arrived in the pond (see my stories) which I always love to see meaning spring is on its way 🙌🏻

Meaning I’ve been up since the crack of dawn, travelled an hour away to stand in the rain for a couple of hours with temperatures feeling like -7, then another hours journey home, made lunch, then decided to deep clean the kitchen before making dinner 🤦🏼‍♀️😂
