Ashland Central Park Christmas Lights I created this page a couple of years ago and update it every year. I hope you enjoy it It takes city employees and volunteers about six weeks to put them up.

Every year Ashland celebrates the holiday season with a spectacular display of lights. This year there are 60 holiday displays with tens of thousands spread over the 52 acres of Central park. It is really a huge undertaking and the time the lights are up represents only a part of the project. It takes about another six weeks to take the lights down and then the storage and maintenance begins. Eve

rything has to be cleaned and all the displays are being switches over to LED bulbs. It will save a lot of the operating budget every year. The entire event is paid for by donations. Ashland Alliance, the chamber group representing Boyd and Greenup Counties, oversees the project. City crews and volunteers with the Winter Wonderland of Lights committee also are involved in the project. Thousands from the Tri State will travel to Ashland this year to enjoy the event.
