🔍 What to watch for this winter:
*Cracks or splits in the brass body
*Water leaking or pooling around the unit
*Bulging or separated fittings
*No water flow or low pressure when the system is turned back on
Even a small freeze can cause damage that isn’t obvious until spring — and a broken backflow preventer can lead to costly repairs and potential water contamination issues.

💧⚡ Wrapping up a clean well house upgrade!

Just finished the piping and electrical work for a constant-pressure well and cistern pump system in this below-ground well house. This setup will give the homeowner steady, reliable water pressure throughout the entire home — even when multiple fixtures are running.

We also installed a pitless adapter inside the cistern, which makes it easy to remove and service the pump without needing to dig or disturb the system. It’s a small component that makes a big difference in long-term maintenance and reliability.

❄️🔥 Cold weather tip for homeowners!

Here’s a perfect example of what can happen during extreme cold: this water heater exhaust vent iced over, blocking airflow and causing the water heater to shut down.

If your water heater suddenly stops working during a cold snap, take a minute to check the outside vent. A simple ice blockage like this can stop the whole system — and it’s often an easy fix you can do yourself.

✔️ Clear the ice
✔️ Make sure the vent isn’t buried in snow
✔️ Restart the water heater

If everything’s clear and it still won’t fire up, that’s when it’s time to call a pro
