Big News from Royall Hardware 🛠️
Believe it or not, Royall Hardware is coming up on 50 years of serving the Lowcountry. With your support, we’ve had the incredible honor of building a business that’s respected in our community and beyond. It’s been a joy to help you tackle projects big and small, lend advice, and share stories over the counter. To our CONTRACTOR friends we say a BIG Thank YOU! Your loyal patronage and strong financial support has been the life blood of this company from day one!!! Also over the years we have been blessed to have many young men and women come to work with us. Many for their first job! We have mentored, led, pushed and trained these young folks. Many have moved on to serve in the Military, some went on to higher education, some even went into the ministry! This has been a rewarding experience! Thank you Lord!
A few months ago, an old friend of mine, Tom Glenn (a fellow ACE Hardware owner), visited Charleston with his wife. They stopped into our store and loved what they saw—our people, our service, our way of doing things. A while later, he called to say, “I’d like to buy Royall Hardware.”
And so, effective July 1, 2025, Royall Hardware will become
Elders ACE Hardware, under Tom’s ownership.
Julia and I are getting a little older (hard to believe!), and we’re looking forward to spending more time with our grandson Jacob, in New York, doing a bit of traveling, gardening, maybe even writing down some of these good hardware stories.
Please know: all current employees are encouraged to stay on, and Tom and his team are excited to continue serving you with the same dedication and integrity you’ve come to expect.
We’re proud of what we’ve built together—our team, our service, our support for local nonprofits, and the years of old tales shared with customers like you.
