This beautiful home nestled into the Victorian Strathbogie Ranges at Kithbrook, was home to Viv’s Grandparents (and I’m obsessed with it). The property has been in this family for the past 140 years. Viv is one of 12 grandchildren who have such loving memories of spending their school holidays there as kids. Every part of this painting contains sentimental features that bring back so many fond memories. This was the perfect piece to have commissioned as Viv is about to move across the country, so she can take a piece of home with her.

This piece makes for the most beautiful pair of paintings for the Curtois family. A couple of years ago Tenille commissioned a painting of her husband Adam, and their two boys at the beach. He has now returned the favour, after a recent trip to the Uluru, with the kids a bit bigger now. Such special memories of travelling around Australia with their boys.

‘Karoom Drive’ is a beautiful 40th wedding anniversary gift for Felicity and Tub, from their 6 kids. It is designed to hang right next to a previous gift they gave them of ‘Moyne Farm’. ‘Moyne Farm’ is the childhood home where Felicity grew up, ‘Karoom Drive’ is the Wagga home where they raised their family.
Felicity actually asked me last week for a painting of their Karoom Drive home, to be just like ‘Moyne Farm’, since it has just sold. Her kids were one step ahead of her!
Felicity and I have worked at the same school for the past 12 years, so I just loved painting this piece knowing just how much she was going to appreciate all that it represents.
