Has Been There…Done That! Most of my life appears unsettled. I've hitchhiked, moved 20+ times, empty nester, divorce survivor, at-home worker (not wrecker)! So you could say, I’ve been there-done-that! But along the way, I’ve transitioned my personal homes and many others into functional homes. I'm very budget conscious. That inspires me to repurpose and rearrange current furnishings. Then introduce color and pattern that revitalizes and refreshes a home. Grace Along the Way
My design business has evolved over the years. When it began in 1991 as Greenbriar Interiors I named it for the subdivision where we built our second home. When we moved in 1996 the business name couldn’t “move” with me, so it became Kathie Grace Roberts Interior Design. During that time, my biz focused on window treatments and other soft home fashions. It provided a good life-work balance for raising twins, managing a household, traveling, and enjoying family and friends. In 2001, after 9/11 and a Christ Renews His Parish retreat, I again felt unsettled so I began an extended sabbatical from my interior design business. It was like laying a dear friend to rest – with unexpected grief of setting aside a big part of my being. As an empty nester in 2006 I felt called to revive my design passion. Scripture study, along with my maiden name, inspired me to adapt Psalm 84:1 – with a twist – as my new business name: Grace Your Dwelling Place™. While the inspiration was there it just wasn’t jelling. So, I began my Realtor© roller coaster ride. It combined my family construction background with my design passion. Meanwhile, I continued restructuring my design business. Been a long time coming…but here it is! All things in God’s time: resolve to evolve – that’s life! About that logo
Collaborating with my son (https://www.tylerrobotsdesign.com), we created my logo based on an armillary sphere. An armillary sphere represents the concept of time, history, and the evolving universe into one element. It has also been used as a navigational tool by sailors. The sphere is still a timeless symbol of humanity’s eternal search for knowledge that provides guidance and direction. It truly encompasses my design and life philosophy! The initials for Grace Your Dwelling Place™ are integrated within my logo. You may recognize the Chi Rho “Christogram” as the Greek abbreviation for the name of Jesus Christ (with the first two letters of Christ being Chi – the character “X” and Rho – the character “P”). This is a Christian centric business. Colors: The aqua-colored sphere encompasses our global desire for harmony and balance. The gold ring reflects the luxury of a dwelling place that is an authentic expression of you. Purple is my favorite color and signifies my passion and joy for interior design and life. The heavenward pointing arrow is a primary point of my purpose. I provide upward guidance for your Personal Home Style so you may Live Well Where You Dwell©.
