Small Garden, Big Transformation

This compact walled garden has been completely reimagined to create a stylish, low-maintenance outdoor space that feels bigger, brighter, and ready for summer.

By working with the existing split levels, we created distinct zones for relaxing, entertaining, and enjoying the sun throughout the day. A new lawn area softens the space and provides year-round greenery, while carefully selected planting adds texture, structure, and seasonal interest without demanding constant upkeep.

The raised borders frame the garden beautifully, helping to define the space while keeping maintenance simple. The summerhouse remains a focal point, offering a versatile retreat for storage, hobbies, or a quiet place to unwind.

This elevated site came with its challenges, but also huge potential. Working with the natural levels, we designed a space that’s both practical and beautiful—perfect for relaxing and entertaining.

The team at Mc ateer paving took to the challenge and as always delivered. Structuring the levels to allow for more user friendly family spaces.

The use of superior porcelain tiles and granite cobbles from coolestoneni ensured a high level of quality throughout!

While our clients were busy transforming the inside of their home, the garden layout was still a big question mark.

The main challenge? A significant height difference between the house and the lower garden level — making the space feel disconnected and difficult to use.

🏡 New Build Home Transformation
We replaced the old basic flagstones with sleek porcelain paving, creating a larger patio area, a relaxing hot tub zone, and a stunning water feature — all designed for easy maintenance and everyday enjoyment.

🚗 The finishing touch? A Granite Setts driveway for timeless curb appeal.

✍️✍️✍️ New Garden Project Sign Off ✍️✍️✍️

Signed off and ready to build!

Working with our clients as they restore their beautiful Belfast home, we’ve redesigned the outside to match the house’s new life.

The plan: an interesting, welcoming front that makes an impression; every bit of the rear garden used smartly to create function and flow; a timber pergola for sheltered seating; a fireplace seating area for year-round use; and a generous lawn framed by lush planted borders.

Can’t wait to move from paper to planting.

The team approached us with a solid understanding of the client's needs, but struggled to visualise the space and material combinations.

Our 3D design visualisation services helped bridge the gap! By merging the client's vision, contractor expertise, and our own experience, we created a breathtaking outcome.

💚💚💚 Ready to party 💚💚💚

Last year we worked on a garden revamp design with our client based in North Down. They were looking to upgrade their outdoor space, but didn’t know exactly how to go about this.

With a little assistance through our design service, we were able to meet up to discuss the potential the space had. The key now was to try and unlock this potential. A few ideas were pieced together initially and after one or two redrafts we settled on the concept.

Mc ateer paving came onboard to assist with the labour side of the process, and as always they showcased their class with some high end finishing to bring the whole process together.

Now the garden his completed, and is fit for all types of gatherings for years to come!
