Good morning, everyone!

We hope you enjoyed last night's rain, which has finally put an end to our 40+ days of 40+ temperatures.

This is a La Niña year, and we are expecting a very wet season with forecasts of heavy rain, heavy thunderstorms, and hurricanes. We appreciate your confidence in Nico's skill, but we cannot accept any roofwork or exterior painting projects until dry season this fall. We have openings beginning in late September.

Hello friends!

Yucatán has been really super hot this year and we are all looking forward to cooler, dryer weather coming soon. Now is the time to plan your dry weather painting and roof maintenance projects for your home.

I have been a professional painter for over twenty-five years. I do quality work at a reasonable price. I am friendly, bilingual, honest, reliable, punctual, and clean. I love animals and get along with all kinds of fur babies.

When you hire me, you get me. I never sell my contracts or subcontract them out. I never, ever water down your paint. I prepare all the surfaces as needed to properly receive paint, and I provide all the tools and supplies needed to complete the job, such as ladders, drop cloths, plastic, brushes, rollers, sandpaper, etc. I take care of your property, cover and protect your floors, furniture, draperies, and ceiling fans. I sweep up, take away all my trash, and leave my work site as clean as when I arrived.

I know yesterday was Thanksgiving, but every day should be. I think last year's post about sums it up, except there's a new baby stateside and one due here before Christmas. Babies are hope and promise!

Thanks to all of you who have checked in on Nico, who have sent messages and well wishes. He is doing very well, and sends his gratitude for you all!

This is indeed a good day to give thanks for all our blessings. We are so thankful that Nico has recovered well from his accident in the spring. He has been able to go back to work, and we are especially grateful for his clients who patiently waited for him to recuperate. This year has been extremely difficult for many people with service sector jobs in this city and the surrounding rural areas, and we are very grateful that our physical needs are met, that we have a safe and comfortable place to live, food on our table, and reliable transportation.

We are grateful for the breath in our lungs and the light in our eyes and the spirit within us that sings with great joy in spite of our sorrows. We are grateful for the moments and memories we shared with dear ones we lost this year, lost to cancer, covid, and su***de. We are grateful for old friends who remain, and for new friends who have become a part of our lives. We give thanks for those people who gracefully float in and out of our lives, bringing joy and laughter every time we meet. For our happy and outgoing doggie Roxxo, we give thanks. It’s not the same as having our kids here, but he’s a special kid in his own right.

We are also very grateful for our two enormous families, both here and in the states. This year we have new addition to our Mexican side of the family, our beautiful new granddaughter born just last month to Jona and his lovely wife. Each and every member of our families is unique, incredibly precious, and deeply, deeply loved.

As you gather with your loved ones today, remember those who are far from home, those who have been separated from their families, those who struggle to feed their kids, those who don’t have work, those who can see no good future, those whose hope has been crushed. Reach out if you can, extend a hand if you can, offer a seat at your table. May we all have peace and be comforted.

We wish you a very happy day of thanks, and we hope you are all warm, well fed, loved and cuddled.

After a tough battle with an extremely aggressive malignant melanoma, today Nico's beloved dog Roxxo crossed over the rainbow bridge. He was a wonderful buddy and he loved Nicolas like crazy from the moment they met. RIP sweet boy

Wow, it's been a whole year since Nico's fall. He's doing great and is back at work full time.

His body has healed well, although massages by Diana Gomez are probably going to be necessary for some time. Can't complain about that. She's the best in the city.

As for his loose teeth, he had to get braces, and those will be on for at least another year. Can't wait to see that beautiful smile again.

Our hearts are full of love and gratitude for all the well wishes and kindness shown to us this past year by family, friends, clients, and members of our community. We love you!
