Blackpool clowncil have declared a climate emergency it is about time... however they still have closed minds on what this actually means these are the clowncil words..... We have declared a climate emergency in Blackpool, which means urgent action must be taken to stop climate change.
We are committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions and 100% clean energy use by 2030. In doing this we want to create a healthier place to live and benefit the local economy.
But we can’t fix the climate emergency alone – we need everyone in Blackpool to help. Council services, businesses and residents all need to work together to make a real change. they cannot fix it by destroying green spaces... they have so much to do what is the point in trying to fix something that someone is destroying at the same timer.... Ban the use of pesticides in urban areas & end their sale for use in gardens. There is simply no need to spray poisons in our streets, parks & gardens for cosmetic purposes, where they harm bees & other wildlife & pose a risk to human health. Safe alternatives are available, where necessary.
