Before anything else, thank you.

To & , thank you for trusting us with THE TIBOYANT. In a world where projects often go through countless revisions, this pavilion was delivered with almost no amendments and no changes. Even when material prices fluctuated throughout the process, your support never wavered. Every additional requirement was met with trust rather than questions. For that, we are deeply grateful. And of course, thank you to all the YBs and guests who bravely volunteered to test the pavilion’s stability with their own footsteps. Every step was a vote of confidence. If you have not experienced THE TIBOYANT yet, we invite you to come and visit. Walk through it, stand beneath it, touch it, and perhaps see how a simple Bidayuh bamboo bridge from Sarawak can inspire a conversation about culture, identity, sustainability and the future.

See you at KLAF 2026.

The Tiboyant
by FUTURGROUND × for at Titiwangsa Park

Today, The Tiboyant stands quietly beneath the skyline of Kuala Lumpur, framed by the iconic Petronas Twin Towers.

Watching children climb its structure, strangers pause to experience the space, families gather beneath its shadows, and conversations emerge around its form , perhaps this is the most meaningful measure of architecture. Not how it looks, but how it is lived.

The Tiboyant is inspired by the structural intelligence of the traditional Bidayuh bamboo bridge in Sarawak, a humble piece of infrastructure that has connected communities across rivers for generations. We were fascinated by its logic: simple elements coming together to create strength, resilience, and connection.

For us, this pavilion is not merely an object.

It is a reminder that the future does not always arrive from somewhere else.

Sometimes, the future is already embedded within our traditions, our craftsmanship, our stories, and our collective memory.

As Sarawakians, there is a quiet pride in seeing our cultural narratives represented against the backdrop of the Twin Towers. Not as nostalgia. Not as folklore frozen in time. But as living knowledge that continues to evolve.

The Tiboyant asks a simple question:

What if culture is not something we preserve, but something we continue to create?

In a world constantly chasing the next innovation, this pavilion celebrates the wisdom that has always been here.

Rooted in Sarawak.
Standing in Kuala Lumpur.
Looking towards the future.

06.06.26 FUTURGROUND turns 2

Today feels a little special.

Instead of gathering in an office, we found ourselves celebrating FUTURGROUND’s second anniversary at the launch of the KL Architecture Festival 2026 — surrounded by friends, collaborators, and the architectural community that has been part of our journey.

Over the past two years, we’ve learned that building a practice is not only about hard work, deadlines, and endless hours.

It’s also about finding joy in the process.

The freedom to explore.
The courage to experiment.
The excitement of creating something that didn’t exist before.

Looking back, what we’re most grateful for isn’t how much we’ve produced, but how much we’ve enjoyed the journey together.

We’ve spent more time asking questions than chasing answers.
More time imagining than repeating.
More time playing than merely doing.

And perhaps that’s what FUTURGROUND has always been about, treating architecture not as a destination, but as a continuous act of curiosity.

Two years later, we’re still learning.
Still exploring.
Still creating.
Still playing.

To our team, collaborators, clients, friends, and everyone who believed in us from day one !thank you for being part of this adventure.

Here’s to the next chapter.

FUTURGROUND — Year 2.
Still growing. Still playing.

FUTURGROUND is proud to collaborate with to present THE TIBOYANT at KLAF 2026.

This year’s theme, Future Culture, led us to a simple question:

What is the future?
And more importantly,
what is culture?

Is culture something we preserve, or something we continue to create?

Inspired by the Bidayuh bamboo bridge of Sarawak, THE TIBOYANT reinterprets indigenous structural intelligence into a contemporary architectural language. Not through imitation, but through evolution.

This pavilion is a statement that Malaysian architecture does not need to imitate.

It can originate.

Perhaps the future is not something we need to import.

Perhaps it has always been here.

We get this question quite often:

“Are you guys a registered architecture practice?”

Maybe it’s because our posts look too fun.
Maybe it’s because we don’t wear enough black suits.
Maybe it’s because we look a little too cool.

But just because we look cool, doesn’t mean we’re not professional.

No borrowed signatures.
No middleman.
No funny business.

Just proper architectural services, delivered professionally, responsibly, and legally.

We believe architecture should be approachable, creative, and exciting. It doesn’t have to look corporate to be credible.

So yes, we make cool things.

And yes, we do it by the book.

Now you know. 😉

FUTURGROUND in Bintaro Design District, Jakarta.

Today, our architect presented The Upside Down City at Kopi Manyar as part of MAW 2026. This marks FUTURGROUND’s first international exhibition! This is an exciting milestone as we continue exploring speculative futures, adaptive urban systems, and experimental architecture beyond borders.

Grateful for the conversations, exchanges, and platform to share our vision with the regional design community.
