Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Guarding Area Manager to oversee our guarding operations in a Gauteng area.
The successful candidate will ensure the highest standards of service delivery, operational efficiency, client satisfaction, and regulatory compliance while leading and developing our on-site security teams.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and supervise Security Officers to meet performance targets and contractual obligations.
Conduct regular site visits, audits, and inspections to maintain service quality and identify improvement opportunities.
Handle client liaison, complaints, and relationship management to ensure retention and growth.
Oversee manpower planning, rostering, recruitment, training, and performance management of guarding personnel.
Manage incident response, investigations (including firearm-related incidents where applicable), and reporting.
Ensure full compliance with PSIRA regulations, company policies, and health & safety standards.
Implement risk assessments, threat analysis, and proactive security measures.
Monitor and control operational costs, including overtime and resource allocation.
Liaise with senior management on operational performance, challenges, and strategic initiatives.
Drive continuous improvement in guarding services using technology and best practices.
Requirements and Qualifications
Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in security guarding operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial or area management role.
PSIRA Grade A or B registration (essential).
Valid driver’s license with own reliable vehicle.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to manage large/multiple sites simultaneously.
Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution abilities.
Knowledge of relevant legislation (PSIRA, OHSA, Fi****ms Control Act, etc.).
Computer literate (MS Office, security management systems).
Experience with armed guarding, access control systems, and client service excellence will be a strong advantage.
Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies outside normal hours.
