This project was a mini facelift done to an old - Traditional - house in Paarl. The whole back wall is cladded - stocked by Home Finishes 👏

We tiled the fireplace, recamped the old cupboards to fir the new doors and installed LED lights around the top for extra cinematic effect 📺

This video shows our recent project finished - an old house in the heart of Claremont that needed a serious update!
All carpets were removed, with new flooring installed (Not done by us).
The whole house has been repainted, inside and out. The asbestos roof was cleaned properly and given a fresh coat of paint, what a difference!
All new electrical and lighting was installed, elevating this dull house to one of colour and radiance. All new plumbing and sanitary ware was installed to accommodate our clients love of personal care. The whole house has new cabinetry, except for the kitchen which has new cabinets added and repainted. The rest of the house has all new spray cupboards with elegant handles to match. Outside we installed new roofing, a new stacking door and tiled the stoep area. The garage also has a new roof to accommodate the solar panels and the Wendy house was reinforced and painted.

We recently finished renovations on this outdated flat in Paarl which had been smoked orange, had old and rotten cupboards and an outdated bathroom.
* We started by ripping out all of the nasty carpets & skirtings so that we could retile while also giving the whole flat a fresh coat of paint, damp sealing where needed.
* We ripped out all the old cabinetry - kitchen and both rooms - and reinstalled new, modern built-in cupboards throughout.
* The bathroom got demo'ed - removing all tiles and sanitary ware - and modern alternatives were installed. The bath and shower were exchanged for a modern walk-in shower and the layout was changed slightly to accommodate a new toilet and basin.
* The hallway closet also got ripped out and replaced by the same wooden built-in cupboards as the rest of the space.
* The bedrooms also got new cupboards fitted with the same wood as the space throughout.
* New modern lights, switches and plugs were installed throughout. We also installed a new safety gate as the old one was not in great working condition anymore.

*The Transformation:*

A family member recently bought a house and asked us to expand the house and build a new flat in the back of the premises. We used one of the en-suites in the main house and turned into a new spare bedroom / office space. The rest of the house is very well lit with big open living spaces that make everything just feel bigger. We also built a separate en-suite attached to the main bedroom, as well as a full secondary bathroom equipped with a bath and shower.

All brickwork, plumbing, electrical, tiling, painting, cabinetry etc. was done by our amazing team to bring this space to life

This space may be attached to an existing house but it feels and looks modern, open and cosy. It is decorated perfectly for what the space allows!

FINISHED PROJECT ALERT 🤩🦺

The house has been owned by this family for more than a decade but has been rented out for the majority, so upon moving back into the house they saw that the house needed some major upgrades to fit their newly retired lifestyle.

First was the stairs - it felt like climbing a mountain to get upstairs - this were wiped out and custom built stairs were installed for easier access to the upper floor. With removal of the stairs we also knocked out almost all the walls to create an open living space.

The braai room was minimised to make space for an en-suite added to the downstairs bedroom.

The kitchen has been gutted, walls were removed and new custom built-in cupboards were installed. The "maids quarters" has been opened from the kitchen to create more storage space.

Upstairs:
All the drywall was knocked out, as well as cupboards, to create a bigger shared bathroom, and a bigger room with an en-suite. With this added open space between rooms there is now an amazing open living space as well.

Outside:
We knocked out the existing stoep which created an opportunity for a longer stoep to accommodate the new custom stacking doors leading to the pool / entertainment area.

It truly is amazing to see what a big difference an open-plan house can make. Everything feels so light and fresh now!

Potgieter Construction ended 2024 with this awesome pool renovation! One client with two pools that needed some upgrading with custom installed mosaic-style tiles. This upgrade is breathtaking!

Quick renovations to a flat that used to be a dumping ground for car parts and tools. We painted the outside, installed a new aluminium window, fixed a leaky toilet and cleaned it up quite nicely. 🔨🧰
