We badly wanted a cabinet in our sitting room so I got old pallets, from a store across the road, took them apart planed and sanded the timber and came up with this. The only cost involved was for wood glue, sanding paper, screws and varnish. Took about 2 weeks (about 2 hours every evening) to complete.

Originally I attempted, hoped, and dreamed a clean simple plain Ikea shelf would solve our equipment and TV related junk needs. But no. One day, sick of the mess, an Ikea email crossed my path with the perfect inspiration. I designed and drew up the cabinet then was off to shop materials. Using one sheet of three quarter inch oriented strand board and one piece of half inch multi-density fiber board, along with inch and a half zinc hinges, I built this cabinet in less than a day, all for less than thirty dollars, far less than an Ikea cabinet. The doors are painted satin white and I used Howard Feed-n-Wax on the OSB for a great finish.

a Quick little cheap and simple project that is great looking and useful all at the same time! For this project I use an old soviet table saw that my dad made a few decades back to build this beautiful shelf. As you can probably tell, this table saw isn't equipped with too many useful features but it gets the basic jobs done. I used pine wood for the project and finished it with black water based impregnation.
