1. Orange pipe it not allowed to be used outside since 1 September 2024.
2. The gas cylinder & gas water heater (geyser) must be at least three meters apart. Notice the attached diagram about safety distances.

Illegal installation, for THREE reasons:
1. Cylinders need to be at least 2m from a drain ... and not ON it.
2. Orange pipe shall NOT pass through anything ... not even when sleeved.
3. Gas cylinders cannot be closer than 1m from an air brick.

Make sure you have a legal installation with a valid CoC.

TYPHOON Fan Forced Gas Water Heater
The Geyser is fan assisted – the fan assists by sucking out the burnt gas for clearer combustion, therefore, increases the energy output of the burners resulting in much lighter gas consumption.
This unit requires 220V / 50Hz of Electricity, either with Eskom or Back-up Battery System, no power, no hot water!
Electric Impulse Ignition, ensures stable and fast ignition.
The Geyser comes with a LCD Display mounted on the front cover for easy setting of the required water temperature. Water Temperatures can be adjusted between 35 – 65°C
Automatic Fault Function – displaying error codes on the LCD display.
Comes complete with the stainless-steel flue and bend.
Flame out protection: In the event of an accidental shutdown of the unit, the gas supply will automatically cut off to ensure no leakage.

Perfect example of a DIY and 100% non-compliant installation. No arongae pipe to protrude through anything; not wood, not brickwork ... nothing.

Non-compliant installation means no insurance claim if something goes wrong.

Some useful information.

Did you know ...
No Isolator or any other switch is allowed directly above a gas hob. This picture was taken from a DIY installation done by the owner. The diagram clearly shows where the isolator must be ... not closer than 200mm from the hob.
Remember: No CoC, NO Insurance claim.

Hierdie foto hier op FB gesien. Die geyser is heeltemal gevaarlik en verkeerd geïnstalleer. Dit mag nie binnenshuis wees nie. Dié enkeles wat we; vir binnenshuise gebruik goedgekeur is, moet 'n skoorsteen na buite hê om onder andere die monoksied buite toe te vat.
Gaan kyk gerus na hierdie insetsel wat so rukkie terug op Carte Blanche was. 'n Jong paartjie is dood omdat die geyser van die huisie waarin hulle gebly het, verkeerd geïnstalleer was.

Het jy geweet dat daar veresiet afstande is vir die plasing van 'n gassilinder is en dat jy dit nie kan plaas waar jy wil nie. In kort kom dit daarop neer dat dit verder moet wees as:
1. 1m van deur wat oopmaak
2. 1m van venster wat oopmaak
3. 2m van drein
4. 5m van enige elektriese skakelaar
5. 1.5m van onderste draad van elektriese heining.
6. Die grensmuur moet verder as 1m wees as die grensmuur nié ‘n dubbelmuur is nie.
Indien dit ‘n hob en nie ‘n stoof is nie, is dit belangrik dat daar nie ‘n “source of ignition” soos byvoorbeeld ‘n muurprop is in dieselfde kompartement as die gaskonneksie nie.

Three regulations broken here at this commercial installation:
1. Gas cylinder must be at least 2m from open drain.
2. Orange hose not allowed to through brick wall, dry walling or anything.
3. For all commercial installations gas cylinders must be in a cage.
