Let’s be honest: a plain packet of instant noodles isn’t exactly a health food—but they are so fast, so cheap, and sometimes, they just hit the spot. 🍜💨

When time is short, energy is low, or you're just not hungry enough for a massive cooking session, instant noodles are the ultimate kitchen lifesaver. But instead of feeling guilty about a quick-fix meal, our kitchen philosophy is simple: If a convenience food is lacking in nutrition, let’s pack it full of the good stuff to make up for it!

We never eat the same old boring noodles twice. In less than 10 minutes, you can easily "jazz them up" and turn a humble packet into a fresh, exciting, and deeply nourishing bowl.

Here is how we build our 10-minute noodle bowls using whatever we have on hand:

💪 The Protein Boost: Toss in some quick pork strips, leftover chicken mince, or a bit of browned beef mince.
🥦 The Fridge Clean-Out: Shred up whatever veg is sitting in the crisper drawer—crispy cabbage, sliced celery, carrots, or fresh basil from the garden.
🔥 The Flavor Punch: Ditch half the salty flavor packet and build your own depth with a splash of soya sauce, a drizzle of hot sauce, or a spoonful of homemade stock.

You don't have to sacrifice taste or compromise on nutrition just because you’re busy or on a budget. With a little creativity, you can enjoy a fast-food favorite that actually fuels your body.

Do you year for peace?

God will give it to you, if only you will dwell on the things of God's word, and keep your mind on Him. You can trust in Him.

When you turn your eyes to Him, the things of this earth matter less. When you trust Him, you don't try to figure it all out, and you're less likely to make mistakes... So life becomes more peaceful.

Some roads are just naturally bumpy—but your manuscript shouldn't be one of them! 🚗💥

If you live around here, you know exactly what it’s like to spend your drive dodging massive potholes. It’s exhausting, it ruins the flow of your journey, and it can completely derail your day.

The exact same thing happens to a reader when they encounter a plot hole in a book.

When a storyline doesn't add up, a character suddenly changes behavior without explanation, or a timeline gets tangled, it hits the reader like a bad bump in the road. It yanks them right out of the magic of your story and breaks their trust in the journey.

As an author, you are often so close to your own work that these gaps become completely invisible to you. You know your characters so well that your brain automatically fills in the blanks.

That is exactly why a professional editor is your best co-pilot. My job isn't just to fix the punctuation; it's to look ahead, scan the horizon, and help you smooth out those narrative bumps before your book ever reaches the printer.

Let's make sure your readers enjoy a smooth, unforgettable ride from the very first page to the final chapter.

Writers, what is the trickiest plot hole you’ve ever had to fix in your own writing? Or readers, what’s a book plot hole that still bugs you to this day? Let’s talk in the comments!

Whatever happened to the old-school, slow-paced Sunday? 🤍

Growing up, Sundays had a completely different rhythm. The world seemed to collectively hit the pause button. Shops were closed, the rush was quieted, and the day was fiercely protected for family, a long lunch, a slow walk, and real, uninterrupted rest.

Somewhere along the way, our culture traded that peaceful boundary for a 24/7 hustle. We treat resting like a luxury we have to earn, rather than a sacred gift we've been given.

This Sabbath, let's intentionally reclaim some of those old-fashioned values. Put the phone on the counter. Leave the chores for tomorrow. Sit around the table a little longer, breathe a little deeper, and remember that the world keeps spinning even when you choose to stop working.

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work...” — Exodus 20:8-9 👇

What is one old-fashioned Sunday tradition you miss the most from your childhood, or one you’re trying to keep alive today? Let’s reminisce below!

Yesterday, we parked near an Italian place, and as we drove off, we were hit with an intense, mouth-watering wave of garlic smell. That was it. Decision made. We immediately headed to at our next stop to hunt down some garlic paninis.

Sadly, they didn't have the ones I love, but as I walked past the markdown table, I spotted a loaf of traditional garlic bread for just R10. Score! I noticed it felt particularly heavy when I picked it up, which was strange... but into the basket it went. Talk about being a good steward of a great bargain!

Fast forward to dinner. We paired it with some incredible pork chops and popped it on the braai. Well, friends, when we took it off the coals, we were met with the absolute garlickiest garlic bread in the history of the world. It was pure perfection. (And yes, we literally did a happy dance when we found a small piece of leftover in the airfryer in the morning!) 💃🕺

But the real highlight of my night wasn't just the R10 jackpot. I have to send a special shoutout to the hubby of the century. Not only does he completely rock the office and work incredibly hard during the day—check out his incredible work here: https://www.upwork.com/freelancers/~0119a6017b586cf869?mp_source=share—but even during his "off hours" he still shows up, steps up, and cooks for me.

In a world that forgets what real, covenant partnership looks like, he lives it out by serving without being asked, noticing what needs to be done, and leading with love. It reminds me so much of Scripture:

"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her..." – Ephesians 5:25

To all the men out there: let this be your inspiration today. Hard work, self-sacrifice, and a heart that seeks to bless your family never goes unnoticed.

So grateful for a marriage grounded in grace, good stewardship, and unexpected R10 blessings! 🙏❤️

Ever have those days where you just feel completely "wired but tired"? 🫠

When life gets overwhelming, our nervous systems take a beating. As a homemaker trying to keep all the plates spinning, I’ve had to learn that you can’t pour from an empty cup. You don't need a fancy spa day to reset—sometimes the best self-care is completely free and right at home.

If you’re feeling a bit frazzled today, here is a quick neighborly checklist of tiny, simple ways to bring your body back to calm:

📱 Disconnect to reconnect: Put your phone on Do Not Disturb for as long as possible and write things down in a journal instead of letting them loop in your head.
🌬️ Change your environment: Step outside just to breathe the fresh air, or go for a slow walk with absolutely no goal or destination.
🍵 Nourish yourself: Sip a hot cup of peppermint tea with honey, put together a simple, comforting meal, or put your favorite essential oils on and just head to bed early.
🚿 Sensory resets: Take a hot shower in the dark, make a "scent tent" with a drop of oil in your hands while breathing deeply, or hum your favorite song.
🛋️ Quiet the space: Clean just one small area to reset your mind, spend ten minutes with your legs up against the wall, or do a gentle, calm workout.
🤍 Speak the truth: Sit with the feeling, breathe slow, and gently remind yourself: “This is not an emergency.”

Taking care of your home starts with taking care of you. 🌿

“He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul...” — Psalm 23:2-3 👇

Which one of these small resets does your soul need the most this Saturday? Let’s encourage each other in the comments!

Are you married, but still thinking like you're single?

One of the biggest hurdles in a relationship is forgetting that your decisions no longer belong to you alone. Marriage isn't just a change of status—it’s a covenant that asks us to step up in maturity, sacrifice, and real accountability.

When we choose to think and act as a team, things like transparency and consideration stop looking like restrictions. Instead, they become the absolute proof of our love.

Let's drop the "independent" mindset and lean into the beautiful partnership we promised to build.

“So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.” — Romans 14:12 👇

How do you and your spouse practice "thinking as a team" in your daily routine? Let's chat below!
