As May comes to an end, the clivia berries begin to ripen — which means seed planting season has arrived. 🌿✨

Every seed carries its own potential, and that is what makes this time of year so exciting. From berry to bloom, each one is the start of a new journey.

We cannot wait to see what grows from this season’s seeds. 🌱

May is the last feeding before winter settles in. 🌿

As the temperatures start dropping, we’re giving our clivias their final boost before the resting season and the blooms to come. Every plant in this shade house carries potential — and winter is where the magic quietly begins. ✨

This season we are feeding with Goldsuite Budset (5ml/L) and Fast 12 (5ml/L), together with Inperk at 2ml/L.

🌱 Budset is a calcium-rich formulation containing calcium, zinc, magnesium, nitrogen and boron — designed to support strong plant development, pollination processes and healthy flower and bud formation.

🌱 Fast 12 contains twelve readily available elements together with kelp and fulvic acid, helping with root growth, plant vigour, nutrient uptake and overall plant health going into winter.

🌱 Inperk 350 SC contains Imidacloprid, a systemic insecticide used for protection against damaging pests.

It all started with just 8 plants.

We bought our first clivias from Clivia at Utopia Clivias — not knowing that those few plants would completely change our path.

What began as curiosity quickly turned into something much bigger. The more we learned, the more we fell in love with the depth, the genetics, and the quiet beauty of these plants.

That small beginning led to a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity — the chance to take over an established collection built over decades. A collection filled with history, passion, and exceptional genetics.

Today, we are proud to be continuing that legacy as Waterberg Clivia Breeders.

From 8 plants… to thousands.
From interest… to obsession.
From a beginning… to a journey we’re only just starting.
