🚨MUGGING SUSPECT APPREHENDED🚨

Following an alert regarding a suspicious male loitering in a residential area, our reaction team immediately proceeded to investigate. Although the suspect had already left the area, the team was approached by a distressed woman who had just been mugged and robbed of her cellphone.

The description provided by the victim matched the description received in the earlier alert. Through swift communication and coordinated efforts between ground teams, the suspect was quickly located, positively identified, and apprehended.

The victim’s cellphone was successfully recovered and returned to her. She elected not to open a criminal case. The suspect was issued a stern warning before being released.

🚨HIJACKED VEHICLE RECOVERED🚨

Our Tracking Team was dispatched at approximately 07:30 following information regarding a Toyota Rumion that had been hijacked on Monday night in the Umgababa area.

Upon arrival at the initial coordinates provided by the tracking system, the vehicle was not located at the reported position. Our members immediately commenced an extensive search of the surrounding areas where the tracking unit had last transmitted a signal.

Through persistence, coordinated searching, and effective tracking efforts, our team successfully recovered the vehicle without incident. The scene was secured, and the asset was safeguarded until the arrival of SAPS members.

The recovered vehicle was subsequently handed over to Umbumbulu SAPS for further investigation and processing.

We commend our Tracking Team for their dedication and professionalism in ensuring the successful recovery of the vehicle.

🚨ATTEMPTED MURDER SUSPECTS ARRESTED🚨

Two suspects wanted for attempted murder in the Umzinto policing area were arrested in a joint operation by Umzinto SAPS Crime Prevention and members of the Duke Task Team.

The suspects were traced to Malangeni and successfully apprehended without incident. Weapons used in the commission of the crime were found in the suspects' possession.

This is yet another reminder that members are hard at work in the Umzinto area.

🚨SUCCESSFUL RECOVERY OF CELLPHONE🚨

Similar to our previous case, we had three clever suspects who decided to pay our client a visit at their business premises, using the world-famous tactic of: “Hello stranger, here’s a hug and handshake” — only for the victim to later realise that their cellphone had suddenly changed ownership without consent.
This incident occurred on 21/04/2026.

Fortunately for us (and unfortunately for them), our team managed to obtain the registration number of the suspect vehicle, along with footage of the suspects involved. Patience is key in this line of work.
Today, while continuing our crime-fighting efforts in town, our members spotted the suspect vehicle and decided it was finally time for a reunion. Together with Umzinto SAPS Crime Prevention, the vehicle was intercepted.

To the driver’s credit, he was smart enough not to waste anyone’s time with fairy tales and instead promised to return the stolen cellphone to its rightful owner. He was allowed to proceed on his merry way to collect the phone from his area of residence in Port Shepstone, promising to return with both the cellphone and an apology by 16:00.

At around 16:00, the suspect contacted the team and apologised, explaining that he would be running a few minutes late — which, in criminal terms, is surprisingly professional.

At approximately 16:25, the suspect returned driving the very same VW Polo used during the commission of the theft. He handed over the stolen cellphone to the owner and apologised profusely for his actions.

He was politely but firmly made to understand that Umzinto is no longer a playground where thieves can operate freely and disappear into the sunset.

The suspect was ultimately let off with a stern warning and promised never to return to Umzinto with ill intentions again.

Our team, together with the client, appreciated his cooperation (he definitely wasn’t forced, we promise) and trust that this type of nonsense will not happen again!

🚨SUCCESSFUL ARREST REPORT🚨

A theft of a cellular phone from one of our client’s business premises occurred on 19 May 2026 in Umzinto. Upon receiving the report, our units mobilised immediately and conducted extensive searches in the surrounding areas, including Park Rynie, Scottburgh, and along the N2 freeway. Unfortunately, the suspects managed to evade arrest at the time.

However, we had obtained the suspect vehicle registration and assured our client that we will not let them get away with it.

At approximately 14:30 today, the very same vehicle returned to our town, with intentions of committing further criminal activities. Unfortunately for them, our members were swiftly alerted and maintained observation of the vehicle. Once the suspects attempted to leave the area, our teams positioned themselves strategically and intercepted the vehicle following a brief erratic chase.

Three suspects were successfully apprehended by the members and formally arrested by Umzinto SAPS Crime Prevention members, who responded to the scene within seconds of being called.

A variety of items were recovered from the suspect vehicle and will form part of ongoing investigations.

The suspect vehicle was seized and booked into the SAP13 register, as it was used in the commission of multiple crimes. Investigations remain ongoing, as there are pending cases.

🚨SUCCESSFUL ARREST – CARD THEFT SUSPECTS DETAINED🚨

At approximately 09:55 this morning, our team received a report of a card theft that had just occurred at a filling station in Scottburgh. A description of the suspects, together with the suspect vehicle, was immediately obtained.

The information was swiftly relayed to our ground teams, and a BOLO (Be On the Lookout) alert was issued for the vehicle.

Shortly thereafter, our teams spotted the suspect vehicle in the Umzinto area and discreetly observed the suspects’ movements while coordinating an interception strategy. At an opportune moment, as the suspects attempted to leave town, our members successfully intercepted the vehicle.

Upon searching the suspects and vehicle, members recovered bank cards and other items believed to be linked to criminal activity. The suspects, together with the vehicle, were immediately detained and transported to Umzinto SAPS, where further investigations will continue.

Unfortunately, the victim involved in today’s incident did not open a criminal case.

A message to the community:
If you fall victim to crime, it is vital to open a criminal case at your nearest police station as soon as possible. Without a complainant or formal case, it becomes increasingly difficult for authorities to pursue legal action. We strongly encourage community members to report incidents promptly and provide as much information as possible to assist investigations.

🚨SUCCESSFUL ARREST REPORT🚨

Following our previous successful arrest of a wanted suspect on Tuesday night in Malangeni, our team together with Umzinto SAPS Crime Prevention proceeded to a second location after receiving credible information regarding the whereabouts of another wanted suspect linked to the abovementioned case.

Acting swiftly on the information received, the teams proceeded together to an informal settlement in Umzinto where the suspect was believed to be hiding. This particular suspect had evaded our teams on multiple occasions since 12/05/2026, despite continuous tracing efforts.

One wanted suspect was not enough for the night — through the combined efforts of our team and Umzinto SAPS Crime Prevention, the second wanted suspect was successfully arrested. The tracing and ex*****on process began at approximately 17:15 and concluded shortly after 04:00 the following morning.

The suspect is well known within the Umzinto CBD for violent muggings and stealing out of delivery vehicles, which have caused concern amongst members of the community as well as business owners. Through ongoing tracing efforts and daily follow-ups, our teams remained committed to ensuring that the suspect was brought to book.

We once again fulfilled the promise made to our client that we would not stop until the suspect was apprehended. Through persistence, dedication, and teamwork, the suspect was eventually successfully located and arrested.

During the arrest, a toy firearm was also found in the suspect’s possession.

🚨SUCCESSFUL ARREST & RECOVERY OF STOLEN PROPERTY🚨

At approximately 22:00, an intelligence-driven operation conducted by our team together with Umzinto SAPS Crime Prevention led to the successful arrest of a suspect and the recovery of stolen property.

Acting on gathered intelligence, our teams proceeded to a location in Malangeni where a suspect, wanted in connection with a string of crimes committed in the Umzinto area, had been hiding out.

After evading arrest on multiple occasions despite numerous efforts by our team, the suspect was finally successfully apprehended and formally arrested.

Following the arrest, further investigations led our members to a location where the suspect had sold stolen items. During the operation, some stolen property was successfully recovered, including a Huawei cellphone stolen from one of our clients on Thursday, 21/05/2026.

We made a promise to trace this suspect wherever he may have gone, even beyond the Umzinto area, and we are proud to say that promise was fulfilled.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Umzinto SAPS Crime Prevention Team for their unwavering efforts from start to finish during this operation. Their dedication, combined with ours, proves to be a force to be reckoned with in the fight against crime.

On a side note, while this operation was underway, other members of the same Umzinto SAPS Crime Prevention Team proceeded to the Hlokozi area to assist in the recovery of a stolen Toyota Quantum, which was successfully recovered.

All in all, it was a productive night of crime fighting and a reminder that teamwork remains one of the strongest weapons against criminal activity.

🚨SUCCESSFUL RECOVERY REPORT🚨

Crime: Hijacked vehicle

At approximately 15:00 on Sunday, our team received information regarding an assault on a targeted group of individuals in two separate areas. Whilst enroute together with Umzinto SAPS, one team proceeded to Location 1 whilst another responded to Location 2.

Our team responded to Location 1; however, upon arrival, the situation had already been brought under control. We thereafter proceeded to assist members at Location 2.

Members of Umzinto SAPS at Location 2 successfully intercepted a hijacked bakkie transporting goods. Upon interception, the suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled into the nearby cane fields. Our members arrived shortly thereafter and assisted in an extensive search of the area.

Unfortunately, despite the coordinated efforts, the suspects managed to evade arrest. The dense terrain of the cane fields, coupled with the head start gained during their escape, proved advantageous to the fleeing suspects.

The swift response and coordinated efforts of the members involved enabled the successful interception and recovery of the hijacked vehicle on a gravel road. Their professionalism and rapid action are highly commendable.

The victims later arrived on scene and expressed their gratitude and relief upon having their vehicle successfully recovered after being hijacked and assaulted.

Well done to all involved for the teamwork, dedication, and rapid response.

The suspect was subsequently formally arrested by members of Umzinto SAPS.

A successful outcome made possible through teamwork, rapid response, and strong collaboration between all roleplayers.
