Just look at that maker’s smile!!! 😁 This is young Phelela Duna, who joined us a month ago for some work experience.
Some people are just gifted when it comes to woodworking and she’s definitely one of them!!
Phelela made these kids chairs so well all on her own, under guidance of the cabinet makers - from breakout and machining to assembly, sanding and finishing. (BTW this was the first chair I designed at De Steyl some decades ago!)
This Women’s Month we’re really happy to be able to offer Phelela a contract for a new project we’ve just started and can’t wait to see what else we can teach her, and she us 😁🙌🌱🙋🏾‍♀️🇿🇦
