On the 29th December at around 1:20 am security officer Mnene was posted at the trauma unit at Life Vincent Pallotti.

He quickly went outside to take a break and get fresh air and heard a noise. He went to investigate and saw that a suspect is inside the construction camp busy stealing metal objects.

He then called for backup from his Supervisor Goniwe and they chased the suspect. But he got away.

They got all the metal back and needless to say woke up the guard from the construction company. (Not Ithemba Guards).

With these 2 on your site, nothing can go wrong.

We give thanks to you Officer Mnene and your Supervisor Mr Goniwe for your exceptional service, you both really are assets to our Ithemba team.

Due to a large amount of WhatsApp messages received we were unfortunately forced to remove this post and repost it now.

We strive to give the best service we possibly can and here is yet another example of that service.

"Good day,

I would like to commend Security Officer Baatjies for his exceptional service. We had an incident during November where a visitor and a patient had a physical altercation. Baatjies managed the incident and put himself in harm’s way to ensure that the two individuals stay separated. He managed to remove the visitor from site.

Prior to this incident, we had a patient that became violent in high care. Baatjies was called and he assisted the nursing staff during the night, he stayed with the violent patient and managed to assist the staff in keeping the patient calm.

This is not the first incidents where Baatjies has proved that regardless of size he will not stand back and let harm come over our staff or patients.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Baatjies for his excellent service."
