CCC’s Proposed Solutions To Zimbabwe’s Power Ciris

The opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) led by Nelson Chamisa has said the ruling ZANU PF has failed to address the country’s power crisis and proposed possible solutions to the issue.

In a social media post seen by Pindula News, the party emphasised the need to modernise power generation infrastructure. The party said:

ZANU PF has failed to solve the power crisis. A CCC Government would:

1. Rehabilitate Hwange Power Stations

2. Build additional hydro-power.stations including at Batoka Gorge

3. Modernize Zimbabwe’s transmission infrastructure

4. Open up the energy sector to independent power producers

4. Invest in renewable energy including solar, wind & gas
This comes after the Zambezi River Authority (ZRA) advised Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) to shut down the Kariba South Bank Power Station for the remainder of the year due to low water levels at Kariba Dam.

ZRA chief executive officer Munyaradzi Munodawafa said the Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC), a subsidiary of ZESA Holdings, used more water than it had been allocated, hence the need to close the power plant until at least January 2023 to allow the dam to fill.

Zimbabwe experienced acute power shortages in the past three years with authorities blaming ageing equipment’s incapacity to generate enough power, reduced electricity imports and water shortages at Kariba Dam.

Government critics blame the ZANU PF-led government for the country’s prolonged electricity challenges saying little has been done to increase electricity generation since the 1980s.

Woman Cooks Hubby’s Antiretrovirals To Fast-track His Death And Pave Way For Her Lover

A Mutare Court was left in shock following revelations that a woman roasted her husband’s antiretroviral drugs to fast-track his death and be with her boyfriend.

As a result, Farai Dambudzo experienced a diarrheal episode and had to be admitted to a local hospital, Harare Live reports

The matter came to light when, upon his discharge from hospital, Dambudzo directed his wife, Agnes Magada, to vacate their matrimonial home. Woman Cooks Hubby's Antiretrovirals

Fearing homelessness, Magada sought refuge at Mutare Civil Court where she applied for a protection order against Dambudzo in order to continue staying at their home.

It was during their presentations in Court when Dambudzo let the cat out of the bag.

Said Dambudzo: “I cannot continue staying with a murderer. She wanted me dead so that she could stay with her lover, Sam Machika, at my house. She roasted my ARVs and I innocently took them thinking they had not been tampered with.

“I only realised that something was wrong when I started having serious diarrhoea. One of my daughters let the cat out of the bag and told me that her mother wanted to kill me. I brought her to this court to testify,” he said.

A MEMBER of the Johanne Marange Apostolic Sect in Bikita, Masvingo, has dispelled disturbing rumours he secretly buried NINE of his children in mass graves.

The reports have been circulating in the community and, this week, even spread into the capital.

The reports claimed Clever Maveto’s children – aged one, three and four years – as well as a 10-month-old toddler, died last month, from measles-related complications.

Maveto (67) was said to have buried the minors, under the cover of darkness, using cellphone lights, to dodge the attention and wrath of villagers for not taking the children to hospital for treatment.

Sources claimed Maveto buried the bodies in sets of threes.

However, when H-Metro visited Maveto, who has 15 children with three wives, he claimed he had only lost one son, and three grandchildren.

He said he was even prepared to have the bodies exhumed to shame his critics.

“I am prepared to let anyone exhume the bodies to check whether there is any mass grave here.

“Only two of the children died of measles-related complications and the others died of natural causes.

“The only problem was that when we buried the first two, we woke up as early as 5am to dig the graves and buried them that morning,” said Maveto.

Police and officials from the Ministry of Health and Child Care, as well as Social Welfare representatives, visited the Maveto homestead to ascertain the mass grave rumours.

“What they found are just the four graves and not the mass graves people are talking about,” said Maveto as he showed H-Metro the graves.

Maveto’s children ran away, when they saw nurses, fearing they would get the measles jab.

They fled despite showing signs of measles.

TEACHER FIRES WARNING SHOTS AT HICHILEMA

Newly recruited teacher from Kitwe in Zambia has warned President Hakainde Hichilema on his over speeding in implanting his campaign promises saying “Slow down otherwise we will be forced to change the constitution and force you!”

“I am one of the teachers who were recently recruited and am already on payroll. It was like a dream come true after suffering for five years under the previous regime and only to be given a job now.

And before I even teach a single period, I am already paid! While there are few areas where Government is yet to actualise its promises to the Zambian People, on job-creation, I can testify that this has exceeded my expectations,” wrote Caroline Mwanza.

She added: “I knew HH is a hardworking man but I didnt expect him to overwork like this! We were told few months ago by many opposition leaders that we will start receiving our salaries in January or February 2023, but here we are receiving salaries in August 2022 before even working. President HH sir, please slow down in implementing your campaign promises otherwise we shall change the constitution and force u to continue ruling us upto 2050 like what Russia and some Arabic Countries do.

“You are just amazing President Hakainde Hichilema, God Bless You Sir!!.”

Didymus Breaks Wife’s Hands After Reading Love Chats

26 August 2022

Spread the love

AN artisanal miner from Hwedza severely bashed his wife with a log, leaving her with serious hand injuries, after he stumbled on love chats in her cellphone.

The man, only identified as Didymus, has not been arrested, as his wife Irene Chigoche did not make a police report, out of fear.

She confirmed to H-Metro that her decision to protect Didymus was out of fear of losing financial support.

Irene’s hands are likely to be amputated.

“Didymus discovered l0ve messages from another man in my mobile phone and got angry with me,” said Irene.

“He took a log from the fireplace and severely attacked me, leaving me with severe hand injuries.

“At least, he preserved my life, so I did not make a police report against him because he is the one supporting me.

“He is the one paying all my medical bills, but the doctor indicated to me that the injuries are permanent.

“I don’t know if Didymus will continue to support me financially after I recover, or maybe, he is scared of going to prison,” she said.

Didymus could not be reached for his side of the story.

However, sources close to Irene disclosed that Didymus was very abusive and his wife was constantly living in fear.
