THE SKETCHBOOK
All dreams, fantasies, and thoughts circulating in my mind transform into lines and colors like seeds on the rice field in my sketchbook. Most pages in it display a subject around me or close to my heart. The sketches are thoughts illustrated the way they are in their finest, real form. Ultimately, they become snapshots of memories collected over time. My sketchbook represents a journey. It is like a visual poem of my life, art, and memories.

ZEN
Home to seventeen world heritage sites, Kyoto Zen and its spiritual architecture, darkened atmosphere, and serenity transcends one into a zone of intimacy and silent contemplation, which fosters inner peace. Simple yet elegant materials like soil, paper, and wood create a realistic sense of closeness, while circular windows promote spirituality and elevate aesthetics. Its circular shape shares a story as a circle, in Buddhism, represents the universe’s totality and perfection. Safe to say, the view on display in Kyoto Zen is indeed a manifestation of a perfect world.
The large, open windows in the place mirror a picture frame-like view teleporting us into a world via sliding doors that reflect the seasonal beauty and the spirit of change, varying from cherry blossoms to autumn leaves. In addition, the wooden verandas encircling the building also provide a sense of oneness with nature and its creator. As one, its architecture fosters awareness about change and seasonal beauty.
