Organizing myths that keep you stuck.

Let’s clear a few things up, because these beliefs are doing more harm than good.

Myth 1. You need matching containers to be organized.
Truth. You need less stuff and clear systems. Containers come last.

Myth 2. You have to do everything at once.
Truth. That’s why most people quit. Small zones done properly actually stick.

Myth 3. An organized home is a perfect home.
Truth. An organized home is one that works for the people living in it.

Myth 4. You just need more storage.
Truth. You usually need better decisions, not more space.

Myth 5. If you were “good at organizing,” this wouldn’t be hard.
Truth. Organizing is a skill, not a personality trait.

Feeling stuck doesn’t mean you’ve failed.
It usually means you’ve been given the wrong advice.
Save this. Real organizing starts with better thinking.

Your laundry routine is only as good as the room it lives in.
If the space is chaotic, laundry will always feel harder than it needs to be.

Five simple ways to organize your laundry room and keep it that way:
1. Store by task, not by product.
2. Detergent, stain remover, pods, and cloths live together. No scavenger hunts mid-load.
3. Keep only what you use weekly.
4. Backups go up high or elsewhere. Daily-use items stay within arm’s reach.
5. Use open bins for speed.
Closed lids slow you down. Open bins make it easy to grab, toss, and move on.
6. Give folding a proper surface.
A counter or shelf changes everything. Folding on machines or baskets creates mess creep.
7. Add one “in-between” basket.
For clothes that are clean but not ready to be put away yet. Real life needs buffer zones.

A calm laundry room doesn’t need to be pretty.
It just needs to work.
Save this. Small systems make boring tasks easier.

Laundry doesn’t need a full emotional support plan.
It just needs a few smart rules.

Five ways to stay on top of laundry, without losing your mind:
1. Do one load a day, not six on Sunday.
Small, boring, consistent wins, every time.
2. Sort once, not twice.
3. Separate hampers for lights, darks, towels. End of story.
4. Fold it where it lands.
5. If it comes out of the dryer, it gets folded immediately. No couch piles allowed.
6. Assign laundry days by category in addition to clothes.
Monday towels, Wednesday bedding covers, Friday sheets. Decision fatigue, gone.
7. Put less in your wardrobe.
Less clothing equals less washing. Shocking, but true.

Laundry doesn’t have to be perfect.
It just has to be done.

Christmas is over, but the chaos doesn’t have to last.

Before you throw everything into random boxes and swear you’ll deal with it next year, do this instead:
1. Wrap lights around cardboard or reels, no knots, no rage next December.
2. Sort decor by zone, tree, table, entry, outdoor, not by “misc”.
3. Use clear, sturdy bins and label the front, not the lid.
4. Store fragile items vertically with padding, not stacked like a gamble.
5. Keep one small “holiday edit” box for items you’re ready to let go of next December.

Future you will thank you.

Think of your reset routine as a tiny daily favor to yourself. It doesn’t have to be intense; just consistent. Here’s how to make it part of your rhythm:

1. Set a daily time (after dinner or before bed works best).
2. Fluff pillows and fold throws, it’s quick but makes a big visual difference.
3. Return everything to its home: remotes, mugs, chargers.
4. Take 30 seconds to glance around and spot any build-up.
5. Involve the family, this shouldn’t be a solo job.
6. This small act adds up fast. Your future self will walk into a peaceful space and silently thank you.

If your living room feels off, it probably needs a layout rethink. A few intentional moves can make the space more usable and way easier to maintain. Try this:

1. Identify any furniture that's blocking flow or cramping the vibe.
2. Create clear pathways and aim for at least 75cm between furniture pieces.
3. Don’t be afraid to float furniture off the walls.
4. Anchor the space with a rug to define zones.
5. Consider how you actually use the room: do you need more seating, storage or space to stretch out?
6. When your layout works, cleaning and organizing become way easier. It’s not about Pinterest-perfect; it’s about living better.

We love that you have your own style, but even gorgeous things can feel overwhelming when there's too much of everything. Here's how to reign it in:

1. Take everything off one shelf or surface and edit before replacing.
2. Group items in odd numbers like 3 or 5 for visual balance.
3. Mix up heights and textures so your decor doesn’t look flat.
4. Leave breathing space between clusters, empty space is your friend.
5. Rotate seasonal pieces in and out to keep things fresh.
6. Your home should feel curated, not cluttered. Let your favorites shine by giving them room to stand out.

Little things cause big messes. Remotes, blankets, toys, random cables; they drift if you don’t give them a proper home. Here's how to tame the tiny chaos:

1. Use baskets or bins that suit your décor style.
2. Group like items together: all remotes in one box, toys in another.
3. Choose closed storage if visual clutter stresses you out.
4. Label baskets if other people are using the space too.
5. Do a once-a-week reset so things don’t creep back out.
6. You don’t need to hide everything, just contain it with intention.

Your coffee table shouldn't double as a junk drawer. If you're constantly pushing stuff aside just to put down your coffee, it's time for a reset. Here’s how to keep your surfaces fresh without going full minimalist:

1. Start with a clean slate; remove everything.
2. Only return items you use daily or that bring you joy.
3. Use trays or small boards to group items together and keep it tidy.
4. Limit display pieces to not overcrowd the table.
5. Do a surface sweep each evening so clutter doesn’t pile up.
6. Less visual noise = more mental peace. Keep it simple, stylish and intentional.

Day 7 of 7 to kick starting your organizing journey.
1. Congratulations on making it this far. I have purposefully kept the steps simple and easy to stack to ensure that you reach your goals.
2. If you have been following along, but not yet gone over to action it is never too late to start.
3. Grab a basket and do a quick 15-minute sweep of items without homes.
4. Decide: Keep, donate, or toss.
5. Follow through immediately before second guessing yourself.
6. Repeat this in every room of the house and then congratulate yourself for every unused item leaving your life and freeing up space.
