The Marble Quarry has been started from Obe District and extended to the Chisht-e-Sharif District 180 km east of Herat Province. This quarry has the best marble with high quality which has different colors such as, rainbow, green, gray and complete white. It is more than 14 years that this quarry has been under mining. Chisht-e-sharif Marble became the most valuable marble in the worldwide market
for its best quality and most countries demand for its market in Asia, Europe ,CIS and America, such as Italy, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Iran, China, India etc. Marble Production has two phases.
1. Raw Material (Blocks)
2. Processed Materials (Cut Marble in various dimensions)
After that the blocks are arrived to the city by Ground Transportation, they will be stored in Afghan Morvarid Stock and all other factories will come for choosing and buying them and this is the first phase. Marble processing will be started after the factories choose blocks (Raw Materials) to cut different dimensions. Marble production has become very important in Herat City recently. Many factories have been established for processing the raw materials of marble (blocks coming from quarry). Among all, Afghan Morvarid Stone Mining Company, is the best factory for processing (cut to size and turning) the raw Marble and production in different sizes and dimensions. This factory uses the Italian Gasperi Minotti Machineries which are the best for marble production. It is more than 3 years this factory producing various sizes of materials such as, Slabs and Tiles
