"Um (Último) Abraço aos Imbondeiros do Sequele" - A (Last) Embrace to Baobabs of Sequele)

Last weekend (July 13) I invited my friends via Facebook to embrace baobabs, an invitation weird to many but others easily identified with the cause.

"Um (Último) Abraço aos Imbondeiros do Sequele" - A (Last) Embrace to Baobabs of Sequele) is a simple gesture in Photo-Performance against the genocide of Baobabs that are located along the access road to the Centrality of Sequele in Cacuaco (Luanda - Angola).

It is a shrine of Baobabs inside Luanda that should be protected but unfortunately they already have the sentence of death, even innocent and owners of those lands.

Man destroys fauna and flora every day and when Nature revolts, the consequences are devastating.

Agent of the Week: Nefuani Junior

Nefuani Jr is a creative and dedicated individual member of our community; he lives in the Capital city Luanda in Angola and is also our representative for the World Merit Angola office. When growing up he believed education was everything and is currently a Architecture and Urbanism student.
He volunteers on various different projects as well as takes part in social and philanthropic activities, he is very versatile and has learnt a lot of skills because of it from painting to movie making.

Nefuani has also done a lot of work for his community, such as supporting a school by helping the children, promoting drawing contests and providing them with some drawing materials for them to use. He also encourages others to do the same as him and help the children who study in bad conditions. But not only that, he also has a long standing project working on "Mwini", it’s a project and group in Angola that aims to help young people through art or any other talent they have, creating spaces and activities for them in order to show their best work while also removing them from delinquency.

"Man is said be a rational animal, but rational animals don't destroy the planet we live on and call it rational"

Nefuani has done so much for his community and has used his talent and inspiration to help the youth in his country. It’s amazing to see all the work that he’s done and the positive affect it will have on our generation; he deserves to be our Agent of the Week.
