🌺 Lest We Forget – A Personal Reflection This ANZAC Day

Tomorrow, we pause to remember. To honour. To reflect.

I’ve had the privilege—and the heartache—of witnessing firsthand the toll that service can take. Not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. And like many veterans, I’ve had my share of struggles since coming home from many places throughout the world.

ANZAC Day is more than a date on the calendar—it's a moment for all of us to recognise the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who have put their lives on the line for this incredible country we call home. I’ve been honoured to wear the uniform and to serve alongside some of the finest people I have ever met.

Being an Aircrew member in the Airforce, one question I often get asked is what is the most memorable thing you've carried? My answer is, our Hero's that made the ultimate sacrifice. Bringing them home to Australia and to their loved ones was by far the most important missions I had to carry out.

Starting The Salad Table wasn’t just about building a business. It became part of my healing. There’s something about being in the garden—nurturing life, watching things grow, feeling the sun on your back—that brings a peace I can’t quite put into words. It’s been good for the mind and great for the soul.

I’m proud of what we’ve built, but even prouder of my family. My Son and youngest Daughter both followed the same path, serving our country with strength and pride. To say I’m proud is an understatement.

As we approach ANZAC Day, I want to take a moment to honour not just those who served before me, but also those who’ve stood alongside me—and those who still serve. Especially those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. We remember you. We thank you. We will never forget.
