-refresh your memory on exactly what you have
-get rid of unnecessary items
-make sure what is left is necessary to keep
-organise things so you know where they are (and they’re safely stored)
-put things away that have just been dumped in there

In just a few hours, this spare room looked very different. Not so overwhelming to go back in and fine tune it 👌🏼

After 2 years of closing the door on this room, too overwhelmed to deal with the all the sentimentality, it took us just a day to clear it out!

Paperwork.

Most of my clients have an overwhelming amount of paperwork. Some from over 10 years ago. Bills, receipts, warranties, letters, policies… There’s so much that it’s too overwhelming to even start, so it never gets done and the pile keeps growing. Things get missed. Vouchers expire. Sound familiar?

I have a dedicated ‘junk drawer’ in my buffet. It’s for a quick place to put random things, kids artwork, paperwork that doesn’t need to be actioned but I need to keep and don’t have time to file them straight away. And of course it saves cluttered benches!
I go through it every couple of weeks so it’s a manageable amount of time to do it in.
Then everything gets easily grouped and filed in my paperwork folder (which I go through that every couple of months)

Do it while you’re watching tv or enjoying a cuppa ☕️

Does your child have so many toys but only play with a select few?
When children are spoilt for choice, they can get overwhelmed and only play with a few favourites.
Having less toys has many benefits including learning how to share, and encouraging mindful & creative play.
If you think about how much time you actually spend at home, and how often the kids actually spend playing with toys (not watching tv, doing homework, or playing outside) that doesn’t leave much time for toys!
A great idea for babies toys is to rotate them!
Also, get them involved in decluttering their belongings. Having them part of the process is important for their understanding and so they develop crucial skills which will help them throughout their life.
