Designedbyb is a business created out of love for beautiful and practical spaces by Bec Ifould. Growing up in the small town of Tintinara in the South East of South Australia, Bec learned her practical hands-on skills and the value of hard work from her father. She was her dad’s right hand ‘man’ and treasured her time working beside him on the land during her childhood until she moved on to school
ing in Adelaide. After travelling the world in her early twenties, Bec returned home to Adelaide and began working beside her dad once again, who had moved off the farm and into Real Estate. During this time, Bec discovered her passion for the housing industry. A few years passed to see father and daughter teaming up again on another endeavor, using their practical experience and home design knowledge to flip houses. The two would buy a tired old property, and together they would bring it back to life. They were extremely hands-on and did everything from demolition to selecting tiles and tapware. This evolved into friends and family asking, ‘hey can you do something like that for my place?’ These questions started being asked frequently and formed into more opportunities to renovate various properties. With an undeniable passion for renovating and developing properties, Bec decided to study the core building subjects at the Housing Industry Association and began working full time in the building industry. Wanting to explore specialised design, Bec went on to further her studies at the Kitchen Bathroom Design Institute, specialising in kitchen and bathroom design which saw her move into employment within the joinery industry. Throughout this time, she continued ‘helping out’ friends with renovating properties ‘after hours’ until, eventually, this became her main passion, and so Designedbyb was born. Having begun her journey on the tools herself and working her way through studies with practical first-hand building experience, Bec has a niche skillset in design and construction that sets her apart from other designers. Her knowledge and understanding gives her the advantage to resolve design and structural challenges with pragmatic and cost-effective solutions. Whilst recognising and understanding current trends and the re-sale market of housing. She also believes in creating beautiful and practical spaces that work for your unique lifestyle and celebrate your personality. Bec brings her upbeat personality, passion, and expertise to every project she works on. She puts her heart and soul into ensuring her clients enjoy the renovation process and are part of the design journey.
