Derek Wales and Son Surface Coatings is a 3rd Generation Family Business trading since 1978. We tender for painting contracts within the commercial construction Industry. Residential Services are welcomed and include quality painting, wallpaper hanging, graining and marbling. Specialists in applied textures including trowel, sprayed and exposed aggregates. xperience within the industry. Providing quality workmanship; to Historic, Commercial and Residential Properties within Adelaide’s inner city suburbs. This has been rewarding with the largest portion of work, being obtained purely by word of mouth with no advertising ever been undertaken. Derek Wales and Son Surface Coating are proud Members of the Master Painter’s Association with sustainable, environmental practices in use. Former owner Derek Wales established the business after moving his family from England to Australia. Derek gained a life time of experience in Painting & Decorating whilst living in the UK; to which he has since applied these techniques to many South Australian Homes. In the 1980’s Derek became the SA distributor of Granosite Materials, applying textured finishes to some of Adelaide’s largest Commercial Buildings within the City Business District. During this time the company had to expand to maintain the demand for such finishes. Since retiring Derek has handed the business on to his son, Paul Wales. Paul’s expertise has largely been in Commercial Properties and Restoration to some of Adelaide’s inner city Premium Homes. During this time Paul has completed a variety of projects across the board ranging from Hotels, Aged Care Facilities, Schools within the State and Private Sector, Shopping Centres, Service Stations, Banks, Office Buildings and residential properties. Derek Wales and Son Surface Coating still today have maintained a reputation for quality workmanship; they provide a friendly and personal service, they have established a strong clientele, with some dating back some 35 years of service.
