Awesome stuff Lauren, keep up the hard work. As a fully inclusive business Proarbor knows that people of any gender, race or orientation can be the right person for the job. We encourage everyone to chase the position that interests them in whatever field or industry, be happy and be themselves.
This is Lauren. She’s a fully qualified electrician working for a large company. She spent five years doing an apprenticeship and knows the job inside out. But, despite this, she often gets abuse from customers and strangers. One man even stopped her in the street and shouted; “a female electrician, what has the world come to”, while others ask her if she’s even capable of getting the job done or lifting heavy things. But Lauren doesn’t let this hold her back. If anything it spurs her on. She’s now determined to prove that trade careers are not just for men - and hopes to inspire other young girls to pursue careers in the industry too. You go Lauren! 💪
