The Adelaide Equestrian Festival is the best equestrian competition in Australia! Congratulations on another brilliant weekend of horse sport. I enjoyed taking my little thoroughbred Spirit around the course one more time.

The design process for an equestrian facility will always begin with a masterplan. Master Planning provides a road map for future development decisions on a project. An overall strategy will be articulated in the masterplan, which outlines the opportunities for new facilities, as well as addressing any issues with existing facilities. Here’s a flashback to 2013 with my amazing horse Soul jumping in the World Cup Qualifier at the Royal Adelaide Show. We had one rail down in a class which was a Certificate of Capability level, which was an amazing way for 21 year old Soul to finish up at the higher levels.

The South Australian Mounted Branch relocated to a new home after more than 100 years at the Thebarton Barracks in Adelaide. We were able to incorporate elements of this long history into the fabric of the new stables building. Here a simple concrete water trough has a new life on the verandah, and a memorial plaque for a long serving police horse is set into the wall. We loved being able to celebrate the history and traditions of the Mounted Branch with these meaningful and permanent features of the new development. In association with Photo:

The new home for the South Australia Mounted Police at Gepps Cross, in the northern suburbs of Adelaide, is complete. High roof lines and perforated cladding allow for plenty of daylight and ventilation in the stables building. In association with Photo:

In the Tasmanian farmhouse, the steps down from the kitchen provide the living area with a higher ceiling and help to open up the spectacular long distance views across the Tasmanian countryside.
