Join garden creator and passionate plantsman David Glenn for a free garden tour!
David will be running free garden tours tomorrow, Thursday and Friday this week. The gardens are looking beautiful and are at their high summer best following a little rain.

Wednesday (tomorrow) 25 February – 11am
Thursday 26 February – 11am
Friday 27 February – 11am

The tours will depart from the nursery area at 11am each day and will run for around an hour. David will share many stories about the plants in the garden and how he and his wife, artist Criss Canning created the beautiful spaces here. Dogs on leads are welcome in the gardens. We hope to see you for a garden wander soon!

A pretty waxflower! Crowea ‘Poorinda Ecstasy’ is a superb hybrid that has stood the test of time being a cross made by Leo Hodge before 1969. A cross between the NSW endemic C. exalata and a form of C. saligna from northern Victoria, this evergreen shrub will grow a metre tall by as much across. Its large pink waxflowers are produced over a long period from spring into summer. Happy in any sunny, well drained spot ‘Poorinda Ecstasy’ is quite tolerant of dryness once established.

Yes, we are even open on New Year’s Day!

Yes, it is free to visit the gardens. (Although you might be tempted to buy some plants in the nursery afterwards!)

Yes you are very welcome to bring your dog into the gardens and nursery on a lead. We have a water bowl in the nursery area.

The gardens are looking spectacular. If you are after some colourful inspiration in the outdoors, come and visit.

We’re located in Ascot, just out of Ballarat, 10 mins west of Creswick, 8 minutes south of Clunes. We don’t have a cafe, but our nearby towns have many to choose from, or feel free to bring some food/drinks and picnic under the trees.

We can’t think of a better way to start 2026!

PLANT SALE! FOR 3 DAYS ONLY

We have several thousand plants in excellent condition included in the sale all at $6.00 each. They are available at the nursery only.

Forever optimistic, at Lambley we always seem to grow more plants than we can possibly sell to our online and visitor customers.

We have excellent quality stock of many of our perennials including Francoa ramosa, Teucrium marum, lots of Salvias, Nepeta in variety, cut flower Scabiosa, Clematis, Rudbeckia, Echinops, Incarvillea and many many more at the sale price of $6.00 each which is, goodness, less than half price.

The gardens are looking terrific at the moment too, so allow time to wander.

All sale plants are $6.00 each - Pick up only, no holds
Stock will be replenished each day.

Lambley’s gardens are looking superb at the moment!!

The avenue of Mt Fuji cherries is in full flight and the Tulip beds look wonderful. Great drifts of flowering Iceland poppies, daffodils, blue bells and much more add to the joy.

A reminder that the free garden tours led by David Glenn are on this weekend. Private areas of the garden are included in the tour.
Tours depart from the nursery area at Lambley at the following times

11am - Saturday 4 October
11am - Sunday 5 October

The tours usually run for around an hour and there is no need to register beforehand. Dogs on leads are welcome in the gardens. If you can’t make it for a tour, never fear! We are open 9am until 5pm.

Time for S P R I N G garden tours at Lambley!

These FREE tours are run by garden creator and passionate plantsman David Glenn, and will take place later this week and weekend at 11am on Thursday 18th, Friday 19th Saturday 20th, and Sunday 21st September.

The tulips are starting their colourful show in the display garden and the narcissus in the pear walk are spectacular. These garden tours also take in the private gardens, including the studio garden and woodland garden which aren’t normally open to the public.

Tours depart promptly at 11am from the Nursery area at Lambley, and there is no need to register beforehand. The tours usually run for around an hour.

It's Galanthus time at Lambley! These are Galanthus 'S. Arnott' making a show this week in the copse of Pyrus ‘Edgewood’ near the rose garden. We don't have any of these beauties for sale this season but you can come and enjoy them in the garden here! ☺️

Photographs do not come anywhere near revealing just how brilliant these paintings are. In days when giant teddy bears and bananas stuck on walls are considered “art” it will do your soul good to see these paintings in the flesh.

They repay close scrutiny. The longer you look at them the more is revealed. The work is technically brilliant. The drawing, the composition and the colour harmonies are the result of the sixty years of hard work that Criss Canning has spent honing her skill. But there is also something indefinable in these paintings. Heart or spirituality may be the words which could be used to describe the magic in this work.

These paintings will never, ever, be shown together again so you should take this opportunity to see these beguiling paintings for the first time, and the last. They are on show in what must be the most beautiful private gallery in Australia.

There is car parking on site. You don’t need an appointment to see this exhibition. Just ring the doorbell and Smith and Singer’s charming staff will open the gallery.
