Email from David recently... they have fish and horses...
"Just a short note to say that my wife finally started the horses on the meal when I received my last order and came in yesterday after taking their rugs off proclaiming that they are glowing.
The fish like it was well. Not sure if it has anything to do with the Seaweed Meal, but we have a fish room full of babies and everything wants to breed.
We both love breeding tropical fish and we have never had such activities. Everything and I do mean everything, is breeding!
Discus are all parenting.
Apistogammas are breeding again with young in the tank. They have spawned 3 times in 7 weeks and are notoriously hard to breed.
Bristlenose catfish have all spawned and don't get me started on the angel fish. They are hatching 2 to 300 at a time and re breeding before we take the young out. They are so prolific that my wife is feeding the spawn to the bigger fish to thin the herd.

The huge reduction of insects over the years and how it has reduced the number of frogs, lizards, small and large birds and even dragonflies in the landscape.
Even in town the drop in numbers of sparrows and swallows in the main street, as you sip your coffee sitting enjoying life without even a fly to whisk away. As you drive home there is not a single insect smudge on your windscreen, yes, it is nice in some ways but is it good, and do you see the wonderful native butterflies like you used to just a few years ago, do you have lots of honeybees in your flowers.
Thank goodness that some of our farmers have seen the light and are willing to change their ways, they are a refreshing light, we love their thought and determination, and we wish them every success in the future.

When you have animals, poo can be fascinating.
Poo is a really important marker of health. It's a snapshot of gut health in particular, and we all know that a healthy gut is essential for a healthy animal.
Christine sent me these fantastic photos this morning. Her cattle have excellent gut health, and one of the reasons is because she supplements them with Seaperia in their drinking water trough. She calls it their 'long black" - You can see the colour of the water in the trough.
Just 2 grams (half a teaspoon) per day, per cow, is all it takes.

Happy Birthday Grandpa!
The real inspiration behind our seaweed business.
My Grandpa Arthur was an English Horticulturalist. He was old school - manure and compost - and bought could he grow stuff.
He taught my Dad Grahame everything he knew, and that's why Grahame has always had such an unshakeable conviction that organic is the way.
Arthur West was born in 1913, so today would be his 113th birthday.
And it seems that for me the fascination with soil started early.
And for all the South Australians on here...
This photo is on Smart Rd just up from the (not yet built) Tea Tree Plaza in 1965.
