⚙️ 18sp road ranger in a Mack CL wouldn’t select 3rd gear, pulled the shift tower apart and found the bushes excessively worn/non existent and the shaft worn, allowing it to drop part way out of the gearstick end & not travel far enough to reach the detent.

New shaft, bushes & seal will get it back working again 🔧

🔧 VDJ79 we recently fitted new injectors too, along with an intake clean, new starter motor & all hoses in the valley, as part of preventative maintenance as it had just clicked over 400,000km ⚙️

We were recently called to this CAT D10R for a knock/rattle noise at high RPM.

The customer had just had the engine completely rebuilt & fitted elsewhere and was only 10 minutes in to its first job since, when they noticed the noise.

On first inspection we noticed what sounded like a dribbling injector and white puffs of smoke from the LH bank exhaust.

After a bit of testing the engine would no longer start at all with no fault codes showing.

We found injection actuation pressure well below spec not allowing injectors to fire.

After a quick check of the HEUI pump control valve o-rings, we decided to pull the LH bank valve covers off for inspection, as you can see in the pictures we found injector in cyl 5 had a bolt missing from the oil feed cross over pipe & the o-ring had blown out, bleeding off pressure.

We inspected threads, and with no visible damage we fitted new seals and refitted the crossover pipe & torqued it down.

We gained full pressure and away it went.

Can only put it down to possibly final torque being missed on that bolt, although it had a paint pen mark on it.
