Now that the cooler weather is definitely here and soil temps have dropped, most lawns are certainly slowing down.
Now, over the Winter months it is recommended that you raise the mowing height of your lawn.
Just 1 notch on the rotary mowers and a few mm on the roller mowed lawns.
With our shorter days comes less sunlight meaning there is less photosynthesis for turf to produce food.
Leaving your turf and little bit longer in the cooler months helps to absorb a little more sunlight for food.
To also help your turf make the most of the limited sunlight it is recommended to rake up or remove any excess leaves on the lawn and under prune any low lying shrubs or trees to allow a little more sunlight into the turf.
