Clean up Australia Day at Careel Bay Marina wetland strip right after arriving back from Japan! A little bit we all can do for the community once a year for a hour or two and keep our special place cared for. Join us next year 1st Sunday of March.

We went for a stroll at the Emperor Gardens and experienced tree work being done at this beautiful Black Pine which we have the pleasure to have a couple around our block. The Imperial garden has around 2000 of these Kuromatsu, which are meticulously prune to look like a giant Bonsai.

The Japanese also love Camphor Laurel trees which grow to magnetic sizes on parks, temples and Shrines.

Trees of Japan! Lucky to come across a blooming Sakura on a roof top garden and also came across some beautiful wall garden including one being put up by a huge construction block to make passing by pedestrians a more pleasant view.

Bilgola and Sydney’s Northern Beaches were hit by a fast-moving thunderstorm yesterday, part of a wider system that lashed much of NSW with damaging winds, heavy rain, and power outages. Many trees and huge broken branches down everywhere.

This large gum tree likely gave way due to water-saturated soil, heavy rain, and strong winds. Urgent work had to be carried out in torrential rain, which came and went throughout the day. Fortunately, the tree was braced by another, preventing any damage as it fell. However, despite its beauty and grandeur, the Eucalyptus ultimately had to be completely removed.

Great work as always by h the team to get this done in this condition.

Is hard to pick a favourite paragraph but these are a couple that kept me pondering.

“Trees are amazing living organisms. They stand by themselves, develop strength, support their weight, produce their own food and live for centuries, sometimes thousands of years. Even with all the scientific knowledge we have evolved over the years, we still need to learn precisely how they, for instance, challenge gravity so accurately and efficiently.”

“The public must realise that proper arborists are here to do their best to improve our urban forestry. Harsh decisions can sometimes avoid accidents, and by preventing accidents, we can preserve more trees and make our cities more green-friendly. Arborists can make mistakes, but I guarantee the bullet hit right in the bullseye this time.”
