A client once showed us a quote from a flat-pack supplier and asked us to match it. We couldn't. Not because we didn't want to, but because we weren't building the same thing.

Flat-pack cabinets are built to standard dimensions and assembled from pre-cut panels. They're designed to fit any home, which means they're not really designed for yours.

Custom cabinetry starts somewhere else entirely. We measure your exact wall lengths, your ceiling heights, where the plumbing sits, and how your household actually moves through the space. Then we build around all of it.

The difference doesn't show up on installation day.

Both will look tidy when the dust settles.

It shows up three years later, in the drawer that still glides smoothly, the corner that doesn't waste 40cm of dead space, and the pantry that fits your actual fridge instead of the one the catalogue assumed you owned.

One is built for any home. The other is built for yours.

Ooo new sign day!!

Here at our office, workshop and showroom in Balcatta - we are constantly looking for new ways to improve. That sign has been old and tatty for ages so we are super excited to be given permission to install a new one with our name on it!

MONDAY MEET!

This week we are featuring Distinctive Homes WA - one of the brilliant building companies that we work with.

Established in 2007 Distinctive Homes WA is a small independent building company specialising in luxury custom-designed homes within the established suburbs of Perth.

Their tight-knit team has more than 50 years combined experience in the Perth housing industry. They understand the complexities and emotions involved in building a new home and are committed to making the journey as positive and hassle-free as possible.

Distinctive Homes WA's team will navigate the approval process with a minimum of fuss, provide expert guidance on the many selections to be made and liaise with external consultants as necessary. Construction is managed by their dedicated building supervisors with great care and attention to detail. They are also committed to maintaining open and direct lines of communication throughout the build.

Clients are welcome to come to go to them with plans, however, most prefer to take advantage of their fully integrated design-and-build service. DHWA has a close association with several award-winning residential designers with whom we collaborate very effectively to achieve the best possible design relative to each client’s specific requirements and budget.
