Talina is an architect with a passion for all things sustainable design, green buildings, healthy homes and natural living. She graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2002 with a Bachelor of Planning and Design and a Bachelor of Architecture (Honours). After working in Bath in the UK, and with leading sustainable architects in Melbourne for a decade, she started he

r own architectural practice here in Ballarat in 2012. Talina and her partner (and two spirited young lads) had decided it was the right time to escape the ‘big smoke’. Talina has an insatiable thirst for knowledge; she loves learning about life, being creative, feeling inspired and making new connections. She’s very involved in her local community, and relishes the opportunity to collaborate with others. Talina sometimes needs to be reminded to slow down, have a cuppa tea outside under the trees, and breathe in the wonder of where her journey is leading next...

I’ve had a bit of a digital-detox in recent times so haven’t been posting much on the socials.

I’m just back from Sydney, having spent time with this beauty! I have a deep connection to trees, and always feel held by the Moreton Bay Fig. She has such supportive roots to keep her grounded. She’s not afraid to expose her roots to the world, showing her true self (what’s often hidden in the dark underground), revealing it’s not just her light-filled canopy is at the core of who she is. As above, so below. 🌳💚

I also spent time with Sabrina & co at Sydney workshop for a deep soul journey which will continue to resonate ✨

And of course spending time with my team in our Sydney studio is always lovely too! 🙏🏼

Had a fun time presenting at the on Saturday thanks to Sustainable Building Talks Tent with lots of kindred folk who care about better ways to build! (Forgot to take pics!)
I’d booked accommodation at an eco-farm stay at where I could charge my EV & enjoy an outdoor bath! I made the most of fine weather & bathed at sunset/moonrise and again for sunrise (the water kept warm overnight with the insulated cover on!)… so wonderfully calming to be immersed in warm water outdoors under huge skies in the stillness of twilight. Highly recommend!

This still makes me laugh! I do love some wordplay & this is about two of my favourite topics (nature & buildings!) 😂

It’s been another jam-packed year, and I don’t post as much on this page now (as most of my energy is over at Envirotecture to share our sustainable architecture practice) but apparently these are my instagram posts!
They are all lovely memories of work-related highlights, especially of our awards and media-appearances where I’m fortunate to share my stories of how are projects are leading the way with regenerative design for projects that are healthier for people and planet.
It’s also been a year of many personal challenges, but also a year of personal growth as there’s always important lessons to learn if we’re open to listening…so I am trusting the path ahead. 🌿🌏💚
Wishing you all Happy New Year blessings for 2025!

Are you feeling like sh*te? Apparently there’s a lot of it going around! I’ve learnt there’s an invitation to feel all the feelings (instead of just distracting ourselves) as there’s wisdom to uncover within.
However I will leave this distracting pic of happy tulips here as a reminder to seek out small moments of awe that bring joy (& meaning)! Nature is a wonderful healer 💐💕

(Pic from 8years ago while strolling in my neighbourhood of a gorgeous front garden).

There's still spots available for THIS THURSDAY to join us in Shepparton as part of Open House Melbourne regional tour! I'm looking forward to this discussion about the future of regional cities at Shepparton Art Museum hosted by Tania Davidge, alongside local legends Carmel Johnson and Geraldine Christou.
All welcome to come along if you're in the area (or fancy a little road trip!).
