“Brittany Higgins has secured a multi-million dollar taxpayer-funded compensation deal after just a day of mediation talks….. It’s believed the original claim included $2.5 million for future economic loss, past economic loss, general damages of future assistance with at-home care and past and future out-of-pocket expenses of a further $150,000…..But at the request of Ms Higgins, the actual cash amount agreed to by the Commonwealth will remain a secret.”
Taxpayers have a right to know how much Brittany Higgins has been paid out. It’s their money.
Presuming it is a multimillion payout, then that is a slap in the face to the tens of thousands of vaccine victims most of whom have received nothing for their injuries forced on them by the government.
Furthermore what message does this send to employers? Are they liable for what takes place, if their employees decide to go back to their place of employment on the weekend drunk.
Brittany Higgins went out drinking on her own free will. While it is unclear what happened after that (and I don’t condone the alleged behaviour) I fail to see how it is the fault of third parties who had nothing to do with what took place.
Higgins remained employed as a staffer for another two years and was offered support and counselling. After resigning she went on to tell her story to the media and let the story run for two weeks before then pressing charges.
In those two weeks, my Senate colleague Linda Reynolds was subject to completely unjustified abuse in Question time by the Labor and the Greens. Their behaviour was disgusting and prejudicial to any trial. They completely abused parliamentary privilege.
As is typical of Labor and the Greens they politicised something that had nothing to do with politics for their own political advantage.
And to top it all off they used taxpayers money to white wash their own bullying and ta**ry behaviour.
This story is bad enough on its own merits, but to think that money and media attention have been spent on this issue when it should have focused on vaccine injuries and mandates is just plain wrong.
