Today is our son Jed's last day working at the General Store! He's off to commence an IT career with the Army. The team made sure he scrubbed the decks one last time before leaving 🧹

Jed has always been a can-do kid, holding down Saturdays, jumping between the Barnyard and Cafe, functions, festivals and offsite events. Everything you would hope for as a family member working in a family business.

But his new career is calling, and Steph's a little sad to see her baby all grown up. Good luck Jed 🪖 Thanks for your contributions to the business over the past 6+ years 🫡

Well this is awkward 👓 6 years of Ash, with, ah, no Ash 🏖

Ash racks up 6 years of service with us today, and she has been on a well earned break the last couple of months, trotting the globe. She'll be back in a few weeks and we're looking forward to her getting back in to the General Store. We're not even sure when Ash really took a holiday until this year, so it's a well earned break.

Ash and Stace were our first new hires into the General Store, helping us establish our Barista game. Ash has been our Head Barista since launch, helping perfect and open multiple locations. Her experience and leadership helped our family immensely as we tiptoed, and then ran, into the world of hospitality.

Ash has been incredibly bendy with our business, after a slap of her forehead on the next crazy idea she would always jump in and get it done with us. She's established herself as a very competent retail manager and leader here in the General Store.

We hope you're enjoying Europe Ash, and look forward to having you back in the team. Happy anniversary!

King's Birthday Long Weekend 🫅 We're open Saturday and Sunday as normal, but taking the day off on Monday. Come and visit the team, just 11 minutes UP the road, Over the Road in Emerald. Enjoy the drive and find easy parking opposite at the Emerald Hub. It's 9 minutes to Beaconsfield then the 7 or 8 minutes fighting with someone over the park you indicated too but someone had already nodded and promised them. It happens. Anyway, I digress.

6 years of Stacey! 🎂

We just wanted to acknowledge Stacey, one of our first ever employees, racking up 6 years of service with us today.

Stacey walked in when we advertised we were wanting to add a coffee house to the General Store, evolving what was a dusty hardware store into the thriving hub of the community that it is today.

Stacey was a big driver in helping us establish and then grow the business around hospitality. Her efforts have meant we employee many across our hospitality areas.

Stacey found her natural home in the kitchen, producing thousands of donuts, sandwiches, rolls and more.

She has always been our Number One customer service upsell person, willing to try to sell ice to Eskimos when required. Watch out if she is serving you, you will likely end up with an extra hasbrown or donut.

We appreciate and acknowledge her contributions to the business on this her 6 year anniversary.

An update on our Barnyard Winter Hours! 🚜❄️

The ☕️ Cafe & Retail 🛒 area will still be open from 7am Monday to Friday, closing 4:30pm. On weekends both the Barnyard and Cafe & Retail areas run from 8am to 3pm.

The Barnyard 🚜🚛 will now open 8am to 4:30pm during the week. Need something earlier? Get in touch the day prior and we will do our best to accommodate 👍 On Sunday's it is self load only and the Cafe staff can assist with processing your order.
