Home reset

I visited “Titania” (still using Shakespearean names) & said she needed some support. New mum, baby, just married… the list goes on. So yes, needing support was an understatement.

“Titania” was embarrassed by the chaos, I don’t see chaos, I see space & opportunity. So we arrived & got to work…

The pantry & kitchen were an easy fix. A good clear out, grouping items, using our trusty tool kit of supplies; lazy susans - really not lazy & works really hard; 3 tier risers & a range of clear/white containers. Seeing is believing & now the pantry & kitchen functions.

We added a shelving unit over the washing machine to give us some storage, instant fix for a laundry with no storage.

The shed was reorganised with all the garden tools being placed in the smaller shed.

Upstairs we reorganised the wardrobe, boxed up all the clothes & generally added some other to the home. We now have a functioning rumpus upstairs.

Asking for help is your biggest hurdle, Life Organised on site gets you across the finishing line.

A few weeks back I visited Benedict & Emilia at their stunning tree change property in Smiths Gully. It really was quite stunning & wow 20 acres it really was delightful.

B&E have downsized and have purchased a multi generational home. The younger generation are in the process of moving in. B&E have some grand plans to renovate their wing & I can’t wait to visit to see the transformation.

Whilst I was in the hood, I swung by to say hello to the original (OG) & first Life Organised fairy 🧚. LO Paula did her very own tree change and hung up her apron & found herself working at one of the local vineyards 🍇🍷🍶

Seeing Paula a few weeks back was a treat & also a reminder of who well Life Organised has aged, even if we haven’t 🤣🤔🤣❤️

As we head into a sunny weekend in Melbourne & a full diary over the coming weeks, we’ve got a spring in our Autumn/Winter step 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️

I took a call from a lovely lady, looking to book a service for her friend who had a sudden bereavement in the family.

The “girls” wanted to gift the widow something that would have a lasting impact. This beautiful lady is surrounded by a gorgeous group of friends & I completely understood the assignment.

Our task, to make the kitchen function a little easier for the family. The death of a loved one is heartbreaking 💔. I know from personal experience you coast from one day to the next month, so this gift of organising was one I was happy to help with. So I loaded the car & off we went.

Adding some function to the kitchen means it’s one less thing for the family to think about. A pantry that functions means meal times are easy, seeing what’s in the pantry is a great start.

By no means does any amount of organising take away the pain of losing a loved one, but it’s the small things that help us get by each day.

For me, I remember buying a pair of fancy leather flip flops 🩴, actually talking to a shop assistant made me feel like I could tackle a few tasks in my life. Our mum died over 25 years ago, but I still remember how I felt going into the store in Chigwell.

Not all superheroes wear capes… some wear aprons 😉

Our client returned from overseas last week & I got this message from her. It made me cry with joy. 🤩

I absolutely love what my job. Each day is different, we’ve helped this client relocate multiple times, so we know how she likes her family home set up. This one was really special as it’s the first home she’s purchased on her own.

Inviting us int your home to support you is a privilege.

Over the last 9 years (yes I forgot to celebrate 9 years in business) we’ve met some incredible clients. Some mums, grandparents, dads too, all needing a little help organising their lives.

I was told yesterday by a client that the compassion & care I displayed runs deep &’is echoed by the fairies who work with me too. There’s no judgement & it’s true when you see a mess or clutter, all I see is the space & the potential of what your room, garage, office could look like.

Today is always bittersweet, being Scarlett’s mum is an absolute joy, the pain of my mum not being here is palpable.

Not everyone gets the opportunity to be a parent, for whatever reason, remember you’re special too.

Renovations…

Never an easy task but working with a builder you trust is key.

Our very patient client “Portia” put up with council permit delays and the finish line is now in sight.

A few weeks back, we unpacked boxes that were packed last July through the house sales campaign & the purchase of the new place that needed some TLC.

The kitchen & pantry were unpacked & it felt familiar unpacking some treasures that Portia hadn’t seen for quite a while.

Setting up key spaces always makes a house feel like a home, sitting room, dining room. Portia did some culling & some shopping to make her house a home. At the beginning of the day we were in box city, but with a lot of elbow grease and lots of moving pieces we had the lounge room, dining area & kitchen in order.

Erika hung a set of sheers & measured two more windows where sheers 🪡

This week we’ll be settling a client into her new home…

Get your home inspection ready….

Our beautiful client “Rosalina” (yes I’m naming all my clients after Shakespearean characters) is downsizing.

We spent the day, packing items heading off to auction, packing items heading to the new home and a few boxes for charity.

We also schussed a few spaces too… potential buyers will open cupboards, especially if they see themselves living in the space.

Seeing the space in this linen cupboard allows a potential buyer to view their possessions in your home.

A quick schuss of your home will make a big difference at inspection time and when pictures 📸 are being taken. Your home should look lived in, but just enough space so someone can envision where they want to place books or their favourite artwork.

We’re not officially back in our aprons until next week, but we helped 3 clients in January. We moved this gorgeous family into their downsized home yesterday. Last night I got the most delightful message:

“Kelly you & your team were amazing.
You took the stress out of what was a very stressful time for the 3 of us.
Thank you so much for going beyond what we expected of what was going to happen
Thankyou just doesn’t seem enough”

What a way to start the year. 🥳🙏💫

This family are delightful and they have a fresh new start for a fresh new year. Lady of the house, let’s call her Cordelia, provided lunch & treats for the team in both day (pack up & unpack) not expected, but so appreciated. Cordelia & her family sat down to enjoy a lovely bottle of bubbles last night, beds made & kitchen organised. They can now potter in the rooms making it their home over the coming weeks.
