Read our mag, visit our website, come to a garden class or workshop and call the helpline with your gardening question. Graham’s Horticultural Heritage
Graham is continuing a gardening heritage established by his Great Uncle, Thomas Hay V.C.O., V.M.H. (1874-1952) who was Superintendent of Hyde and St. James's Parks and the gardens at Buckingham and Kensington Palaces and Marlborough House, London,

during the reign of King George V and Queen Mary. V.M.H.(1910-1989) was one of Britain's first media gardeners presenting gardening radio shows, editing Gardener's Chronicle (now Horticulture Week), and authored many gardening titles. Roy was credited with founding the Dig for Victory campaign for Prime Minister, Winston Churchill during WW2 and the Britain in Bloom campaign.

{Victa lawn mower}

Few brands stir our country’s nostalgia like Victa. For more than 70 years, the unmistakable hum of a Victa mower has echoed across suburban backyards, being the soundtrack of weekend mornings, freshly cut grass and family gatherings. More than a machine, Victa is part of Australia’s cultural fabric – a symbol of ingenuity, resilience and everyday Aussie life.

It all began in 1952, in the back yard of Melbourne-born engineer Mervyn Victor Richardson. Frustrated by heavy, awkward reel mowers, he built a lighter, simpler and more affordable rotary mower, famously using a peach tin as a fuel tank. That humble invention evolutionised lawn care, quickly finding its way into millions of homes.
