‘Tweed crisp’ is I think superior less latex firm crisp good flavoured flesh. Just lots of rags and difficult to access seperate the arils from the core of the fruit

Grafting Babaco onto Mountain papaya/ Papayuelo rootstock Made simple
1. Select your rootstock in this case a male Mountain papaya
2. Select your Babaco scion slightly larger diameter than than the rootstock trunk
3. Clean cut the rootstock reasonably low down
4. Make a nice smooth even cut about 40cm long vertically in the rootstock
5. Prepare the scion by making a wedge cut making sure to keep the cut surfaces smooth and flat
6. Insert the Babaco scion
7. I use a clothes peg now rather than grafting tape as the tape tends to get wet and hold moisture and the joint rots at times. Attaching a clothes peg keeps the union open to the air avoiding this problem
8. Place in full morning sun to heal Protect from strong afternoon sun

Within about a month most times the union has healed and the tree is ready for planting or sale
Babaco can be problematic when grown as cuttings as they suffer from rootrot Mountain papaya last much longer and are perfect for babaco to grow on

I have a lot of Sweet Granadilla (Passiflora ligularis) ready for sale This uncommon passionfruit originated in the cloud forests of the Andes and is very popular in Peru Colombia Ecuador and Costa Rica to name just a few. As a passionfruit these rate at the top of the list for taste and sweetness and are an extremely attractive vine as well with an attractive flower.
