This local event is coming up this Sunday - it's like Speed-dating for Permaculture advice! I'll be there, along with a host of experienced permaculture designers, and some panel discussions on "Blackfella Permaculture"; "Bringing joy and happiness in practical ways to our homes and gardens" and "on creating urban permaculture edible gardens". Afternoon tea included.

There's an array of ticket costs (it's "pay as you feel"), you can book here:

Freshly harvested honeycomb available again. If you'd like one pre-Easter, get in touch! Available up until Sat. They are around $12.50ea - for about 500g - or can do slightly cheaper if you'd like a few. Note there "is" some regular honey available too, but not much; happy to sell some with the honeycomb, otherwise it'll be after Easter holidays to see what's left.

This Sunday (15th) @ 1pm, we are opening our house and garden for Sustainable House Day. Of course there's the whole permaculture gardens including greenhouse, food-forest, chickens and more, and also highlighting the sustainable features of our recent renovation, including going off gas completely - our heating, cooling, solar and battery systems. We'll also have a couple of experts on-site, including Elise Mcnamara (the Chicken coach), and Tim from F2F Design. Please come along and have a proper tour / look around, esp if you've had only a glimpse.

Pouring some freshly "creamed" honey. This is honey (from our bees) that's been mixed in a mixer, with some creamed honey stirred in to 'seed' the crystisation process, so it stays creamy. Only a few jars available, from about $9. Get in quick if you want one!

One of my largest harvests for a while! Plenty of summer veg goodness, and crispy greens. Turned out to be best season in a few years for tomatoes. This lot went to a small local restaurant. From harvest to delivery in under 2h. Still not sure if $82 is worth all the actual time and effort (it's not). But still feels like the right thing to be doing. Plus we eat a (much) smaller version of this each day.

On Sunday, I'm joining in with this great initiative from Sanglen (stone's throw from my house), where they are having a small lane-way stall with local produce and crafts for sale. I'll be bringing home-made Seedraising mix, some seeds, some produce, honey, a few plants, garlic for planting and more hopefully.

We have now 'fully completed' a major renovation of our 1950's home... and this is the post that describes what we did and a bunch of pics along the way (but not too many!). There's also a follow-on post which discusses energy in a bit more detail for any energy nerds. Overall, we're super happy, and pleased to share the process.

Well it’s a bit delayed; since the bulk of the renovation was completed over 12 months ago. But here we go… check out the gallery above for some photos and a few explainers…
