First of all we would just like to thank you all for such a warm welcome to Binalong! ❤️

We haven't posted anything to this page in a while, but we wanted to reassure you all that we haven't gone anywhere, we have had our minds set on establishing our little nursery as we still have so much work and planning to do behind the scenes.

We do value each and every one of you in the community, so if you have any unanswered questions please get in touch. We try our best to get through all messages across the various platforms in an orderly fashion! 🙂

A stout shrub-like tree best known for it's beautifully fragrant white flowers which are borne in clusters through Spring and Summer. Ornamental red berries follow the flowers, adding further interest in the Autumn.

Large glossy bright green leaves which are oval in shape. A fast growing species, well suited to hedging and can quickly form a dense screen, rounded shrub or small tree.

ROCK CORREA/ NATIVE FUCHSIA
(Correa glabra red)

A dense evergreen shrub with dark green foliage and dainty bird attracting flowers that add winter colour to the garden, with a long flowering time from Autumn through to Spring.

It's upright, spreading growth habit makes it a popular choice for use as a low hedge in formal, native and cottage gardens.

NATIVE PIGFACE/KARKALLA
(Carpobrotus rossii)

Prostrate native succulent with thick leaves. Beautiful purple daisy-like flowers with Yellow/white centres in Spring and Summer. This plant hugs the ground as it roots from each node. Edible flowers and leaves.

Great for coastal conditions due to it's high salt tolerance, good for erosion control and stabilization of sand dunes. Due to it's low required maintenance and hardiness, it has also been gaining popularity in public spaces and playgrounds.

SEDUM 'CHOCOLATE MOUND'
(Sedum spurium)

A gorgeous succulent which makes a magnificent addition to any pot, hanging basket or garden.

We love it’s soft, cushiony florets, which come in a delectable chocolate brown that you can’t help but admire. It's sweet little dark pink flowers add a nice accent during autumn.

Pop in a sunny spot and give the occasional watering. Very hardy......almost thrives on neglect!

DESCRIPTION:
The main focus of our nursery is on providing strong, healthy tubestock to the local community. We achieve this by maintaining good structurally pruned plants with strong healthy root systems. Besides the cost, tubestock are also more popular with Landscapers, Horticulturists and Gardeners as there are fewer issues at planting out which enables the plant to establish itself in the ground much quicker with less care needed once established.

Buxus/Box can be used to create dense hedges, screens or borders. It is also commonly used for topiary. A popular choice for cottage and formal gardens. A hardy compact shrub, which is frost and drought tolerant once established suitable in full sun but will also grow in part - deep shade.

We have heaps available and ready for planting out today, so if you don't want to spend a small fortune on large hedges, choose from our selection of tubestock and get the added joy from watching your garden grow each year!

OK, where do we begin....?!

It's time for us to come clean, for those of you that don't already know the crazy journey we have been on over the past year, buckle up!

Our new chapter began with the infamous COVID-19 pandemic, which really pushed for businesses and individuals to adapt to a evolving world that was unfamiliar territory to us all.

For us we took the opportunity to steer our little business towards our true passion, and the reason I became a horticulturist in the first place, which was for my love of growing and maintaining plants.

We immediately set to work to find a suitable site for us to follow our long time dream of establishing a local market garden and plant nursery for the Yass Valley community...by the end of 2020 we were saying good bye to our first home in Yass and bought a little bit more space in Binalong, which enabled us to begin implementing our plans.

Initially we focused our sales exclusively towards our wholesale/trade customers, and it wasn't long before we realised we had uncovered a nice lifestyle business for ourselves, that was otherwise slightly under serviced in our region, and most importantly for us was that for the first time, we were able to work in a business that we were able to make family friendly for our young family.

Our passion for horticulture and more specifically the nursery industry, was definitely our driving factor, which enabled us to push forward with our plans quickly and build upon both new and existing relations within the community, and after an exciting year of blood, sweat and tears as we strived to steadily develop a respectable product range, as the country begins to come out of lock down, we feel that while we definitely do still have a long way to go, it's time for us to start rolling out our services to the general public as well, regardless of whether they have an ABN or not!
