From rattling, cold and obstructed… to clear, warm and quiet

These two older double hung windows were causing all the usual issues we see across Tasmania:

❌ Hard to open
❌ Rattling in the wind
❌ Letting cold air straight in
❌ Colonial bars blocking an amazing view

We removed the existing windows and fabricated brand new double glazed awning windows, completely opening up the view and significantly improving comfort inside the home.

With the height of this property and the wind through the valley, upgrading to double glazing has made a massive difference by reducing drafts, noise, and heat loss.

We’re sleeping rough for a night so others don’t have to.

This year Affordable Glass and Glazing Hobart will be taking part in the Sleep Rough event for Hobart City Mission, raising funds for people in our community experiencing homelessness and hardship.

Hobart City Mission provides vital support to local people, including young families and children, helping them move from crisis into stable housing and support programs that rebuild lives. What drew us to support this cause is that the work happens right here in Hobart, supporting people in the same community we live and work in every day.

If you’re in a position to donate, every contribution helps and all donations are tax deductible. The funds raised go directly to programs supporting local people doing it tough.

If you’re not able to donate, sharing this post helps just as much.

Together we can make sure fewer people in our community have to face homelessness alone.

We’re flat out and need someone who can work fully autonomously, manage their own jobs, and take pride in quality workmanship.

The work includes:
Residential & commercial.

What we’re looking for:
Trade qualified glazier or strong industry experience
Confident working independently
Solid knowledge of Australian Standards (AS1288)
Physically fit (able to lift heavy glass safely)
Reliable, punctual, and professional.

Driver’s licence essential
What’s on offer:
Casual or part-time work
Work vehicle supplied
Competitive pay based on experience.

🚨 Booking Update 🚨
We’re incredibly grateful for all the support this year, it’s been a massive one!
Please note that any new project work booked from this week onward will be scheduled for 2026.

Our team is currently at full capacity for larger projects through to the end of the year. This helps us maintain the high quality service we’re known for, and ensures we have the flexibility to prioritise day to day urgent reglazing or repairs where needed.


We’re planning to finish up on 19 December and will return to normal operations on 12 January in line with our suppliers. Any work required during this shutdown period will incur a call-out fee.
