This wall was completely wrong...

Gyprock + MDF nailed over it + another sheet on top

Instead of patching a mess, I stripped the entire wall back and rebuilt it properly.

New gyprock sheets installed, joints set, fully re-plastered and prepped ready for paint

This is why proper prep matters. Don't cover problems, fix them right the first time.

Prep work before spraying this Colorbond Classic Cream metal pergola in Underwood.

Before this stage the structure was properly prepared:
• Soft wash and pressure wash to remove dirt and contaminants
• Ground back peeling paint and heavy rust with a stripping disc
• Applied rust converter to stabilise corrosion
• Rust Guard heavy duty primer on exposed bare metal

In this clip:
• Masking and paper protection
• Drop sheets down
• Setting up a 308 FFLP tip
• Sealing around the posts so the turf stays clean
The spraying is the easy part. The prep is what makes the finish last.

The Professional Process:
Working on old houses has its own rewards. This one hadn’t been touched since it was built, with over two layers of paint on the hinges and lead paint on the skirting boards.
The process:
Lead testing to confirm the risk.
Full masking and containment.
Scraping and sanding using an H-Class vacuum for dust extraction.
Priming for a solid foundation.
Glossing for the final finish.
New hardware to replace the old hinges.

It's not just about the time it takes, its about making sure the work actually lasts. Here's an example of a "cheap" job from a previous tradie that failed.

I've scraped the loose bits, applied Peel Stop to the sound surface, and primed the entire ceiling for maximum adhesion. Do it once, do it right.
