Slatterpatch When our love for growing our own food took over, we created what we loving call Slatterpatch, in our little backyard in The Gap - Brisbane, Australia.

Brisbane winters are perfect for Christmas cactus.

They bloom right when temps drop to 10-15°C and days get shorter.

Our magenta ones look super happy. 😀✨️

One of our regulars at the patch. Naming her Kukki.

Yes she is female, her tail is reddish brown. Males have blue tails with dark bars and no reddish brown.

The next element that I was looking for was light.

Picked up a single solar lantern to test it.

Love how it lights up at night. It runs for a few hours and then dims off.

I might add a couple more to create a soft warm glow around the Zen Garden.
