No Till garden. Why
Explained by

We know the captions can be tricky to read so here it is:
We get asked all the time: what are the actual benefits of no-till?👇 Here are the three biggest ones we’ve seen on our farm:

1. Fewer w**ds — not tilling means you’re not bringing buried w**d seeds up to the surface where they can germinate. In every soil there’s a latent seed bank, and tillage basically “wakes it up.” No-till avoids that, so over time w**d pressure drops significantly and you’re mostly dealing with what blows in, not what’s been sitting underground for years.

2. It saves hours of work — less w**ding, less watering, and less waiting around in spring for soil conditions to be just right. Because you’re not resetting the soil every season, you’re building on it… and that means less work year after year.

3. Healthier soil → healthier food — when you stop disturbing the soil, its structure improves, it holds water better, and it supports a thriving ecosystem of microbes, fungi, and earthworms. All of that leads to stronger, more resilient plants—and ultimately more nutrient-dense, better-tasting food.

That’s really the shift: tilled systems reset… no-till systems compound.

Save this if you’re thinking about starting a garden, share it with someone who needs convincing (even if it’s you), and follow along as we show exactly how we do this on our small no-till farm in Maine 🌱
