A moment for this sweet cafe curtain, which feels right at home in Kin's refreshed interiors.

It filters natural light, adds a light layer of enclosure for those sitting nearby, and introduces some softness against the timber and stainless steel of the interior palette.

It's one of those features that might fly under the radar at first glance, but when you look closely, it's quietly tying everything together.

With our fresh batch of studio photos, we thought it was time to reintroduce the team on here!

You can learn a lot about a designer by asking them the right questions – so we quizzed the team about what they love in their own home, where they'd travel to for inspiration, and what brings them joy day to day.

A closer look at the new seating and tables inside at Kin Teneriffe.

We walked a delicate line with this furniture selection: everything in the space needed to be durable and low-maintenance, but also feel warm and inviting.

To strike this balance, we selected a range of pieces primarily made from timber and metal.

We have built-in stainless steel tables, timber banquette seating, steel-framed timber chairs (modelled off old school chairs!), and simple timber-topped circular tables throughout.

They've softened the space, introducing curved forms and familiar textures, but are quietly hardwearing, easy to clean, and well equipped for constant use from Kin's many loyal customers.

A tour through the main suite at Preston House.

Our intention here was to really create a calm, grounded retreat for our clients - a space where they can feel themselves exhale as soon as they enter it.

Around the stone fireplace and timber bench seat, we've used soft textures, warm neutral tones and selective refined touches to add that layer of comfort and luxury.

And of course, the entire space is full to the brim with functionality and storage. Throughout each zone of the master suite, there's a dedicated place for everything, allowing this space to remain tidy and organised - which makes it all the more relaxing to be in!

We’re so pleased to share photos of the refreshed spaces at everyone’s favourite cafe, Kin Teneriffe.

Across both the indoor and outdoor areas, our goal was to ensure that the cafe:
- flows naturally and seamlessly
- feels warm and inviting for customers
- uses its footprint efficiently and maximises covers
- is equipped with durable furniture and finishes, fit for a busy hospitality setting
- reflects the essence of Kin!

We’re very proud of how these spaces have come to life. A big thank you to Tim and Allie for their trust - it’s extra special to work with our Macquarie St neighbours.

At Preston House there's a seamless transition from indoor to outdoor, but the two spaces still feel like their own distinct zones - and the material choices play a big role in this!

The warm, natural palette of the interior contrasts against the bolder tones of the outdoor dining & barbecue space. Herringbone timber floors transition to stone tiles; lighter finishes give way to darker ones.

This is a great way to add variety and depth to your palette. Using the same high-quality materials - timber, stone, tiling - in different ways and with different finishes can create an entirely new mood in a space, while ensuring it still feels like a cohesive part of your home.

Design is everywhere - and a side effect of our job is that it’s hard to move through the world without paying attention to every little choice that’s been made in every space we’re in!

The kitchen at Preston House. Warm timbers, smooth finishes, splashback tiles that catch the light, and an expansive natural stone island at the heart of it all!

Our clients wanted an inviting, homely kitchen that could support their busy family life - but they also wanted it to feel special to live in everyday.

This is our response: a kitchen where the layout is incredibly functional; the materials are natural and hard wearing; and there's just the right amount of richness and luxury in the details.
